But what the hell was he thinking?

Why would he choose to go the slog when all he needed to do was to guide it down to the fielder for a single. He'll regret this day for a long time.

Yes, a perfect bloody end to a perfect bloody week.

First we get done in the soccer

Then the Davis Cup

Then Mundine gets his arse whipped (not that that is necessarily a bad thing)

Then the Kiwi's score 500+ in Perth and we will now probably lose the test - and the series - TO NEW ZEALAND

Then Gilchrist makes a duck

Then Warney gets caught for 99.

Then it looks as though Baddeley will miss his US tour card.

Surely a bit of compassion should have been shown towards a country who has had possibly the worst sporting week in the history of humanity as we know it. And he could have dropped it.

Oh well, at least the Wallabies best the Barbar's:confused:

Bloody oath we were all pissed off at the ground!

BTW, did they show the "bump ball" of Lee. They didn't show us the replay on the big screen so where's the proof he got out?!

What an absoloute shocker. Warney had done so well. A pity Gillespie could not stick around for a bit longer though to help him out more.

hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe

Well i for ne found it highly amusing it couldn't happen to a nicer a bloke.
Not denying he deserved a 100 but i was watching it at work just hoping that it happened
some funny stuff that first last only chance you'll ever have Warne and you F*cked it big time moron:p

hey at least he went out the normal way for himself.
Going the slog and getting cought every innings its out coz he was cought or he gets bowled more often cought though.

Shame for Warney, and i stated in another thread, his innings has saved this test (and series) for Australia.

But i thought it was a pretty ordinary performance from Mark Richardson with his little bow at the end.

A bit touchy this morning. No doubt Mark's celebration was a carry on from the stick he received from spectators at the Gaba. Imagine that, a kiwi enjoying himself at the cricket.

Then again perhaps if Warne did less trash talk bagging the Black Caps his wicket would not be so personal.

Boy did the crowd have a go at Richardson! What a ******** bowing when he gets Warney out for 99. What has the moron done in this test series? I'd be more ashamed that a bowler gets a score higher than any of my performances.

I though it was a classic. You are never going to be the hero in Australia so you my as well be the villian.

Certainly better behaviour than Warne assualting two young children for daring to take his photo in New Zealand.

To see that kretin caught in the deep on 99, and Richardson bowing to crowd like that, will be one of my fondest memories of test cricket.

Along with the other kretin, Mundine, being knocked senseless, it was the only highlight in a pretty shi* sporting fortnight.

When you are on the field there is such thing called sportsmanship! I couldn't give a toss what Warney does outside of cricket.

You mean like bowlers waving their arms, bowling beamers or deliberately grinning to put off the batsman.

That is not to mention not walking when caught behind.

Australian cricket and sportsmanship, words rarely used in the same sentence.

Didn't Justin Langer walk yesterday?

It works both ways. Australia are no blushing virgins when it comes to sledging. Lee and McGrath are kings of the send off. Ponting and Langer wrote the book when it comes to not walking. I think taking a bow comes a long way down the list on the nasty-acts-on-the-field list.

I can still recall Warney's Nelson Muntz laugh after getting batsmen out in the recent past. He couldn't resist having a verbal joust with the New Zealanders after Lee's dismissal. I think he'll take Richardson's act as part and parcel of the game. There are a lot of thin skins around here.

I have to admit I laughed at Richardson's little bow.

Let's face it, he was going to cop it from the crowd anyway, actually I bet he'd been copping it already. He just made himself unpopular with panache! I thought it was done in good humour - he was just playing up to the crowd.

It's certainly not in the same league as some of Warney's send offs in the past.

Roger i agree with 99% of what you usually post .... BUT ... not on this occassion.... lemme see your rationale for Richardsons boorish behaviour is that 'well every one else does it' Sorry i cant cop that .... Salim Malik took bribes does that mean its now ok for all cricketers to take bribes? Just because the Aussies have done it previously doesnt make it right ...... in some parts of the world it could even incited a riot!

I'm not rationalising it, Bubba. I'm just surprised that anyone supporting the current Australian incarnation could possibly take offence at it. It reeks of double standards.

Let's see the hand-wringing over Gillespie's butterfly ball. Clearly outside the rules, but we all think it's harmless. It probably is, but it's outside the law all the same.

If we're going to point the finger, then let's point it at EVERYONE who acts in an unsportsmanlike manner. Not just our opponents.
