Was Mooney crying?

My brother told me he saw mooney in tears on the big screen during 3/4 time.

Can anyone confirm this?
I felt like crying as well, but this is something I never want to see from our players on field.

Oh that was shocking!!!

A collingwood supporter who was sitting next to me then yelled out 'You deserve that Mooney you **** etc etc' while a middle aged Geelogn fan was sitting in front of me and she turned around and had a look of shock on her face. Then the collingwood supporter began with 'Oh turn around u s***, i dont wanna have to see your ugly face all night'...

I'm surprised he didn't smack the umpire out, he showed great restraint for someone who supposedly has anger management problems.

That said, there were horrible decisions both ways on Friday night.

I don’t know if Mooney was crying but I stormed out of that game at quarter time. The umpires are there to control the flow of the game not disrupt it with cr@p.

If someone taps a bloke on the shoulder after the ball has sailed over both their heads let it go, the bloke was never going to mark it and it was his shoulder not his bloody head.
If two blokes dive on the ball and both have a hand on it don’t pick one out because you feel you have to make a point, ball it up.
A player lining up for goal can open up the angle by walking back and sidewards but if a player steps over the mark 20cm it is 50?
A player arriving in a marking contest as the player lands cannot touch the bloke but if they go up together he can maul him for 20 seconds?
Don’t make up rules as you go along. Like players not being allowed to swear, opposition being asked if they want the kick to stand or the goal. Who is EVER going to take a point over another chance to slot one. Common sense please.
Kicking in danger is a rule.
If a player drops his body in a tackle by ducking or bending his knees and gets his head ripped off this is not a free kick.

Overall if the infringement does not disrupt the flow of the game DO NOT CALL IT unless it is intentional and dangerous.

Was there that night and saw the 50m decision against Mooney -

Everyone in my half of the ground could see Cloke go to handball, but umpire was in exactly the wrong spot to see it and therefore made the call with the information he had, these things sometimes happen. Mind you, I was out of my seat screaming at the injustice of it at the time : (

Tough on Mooney, but a good test of his self-restraint given his recent past. All things considered, he did very well to contain himself - you could almost see the Crazies trying to find a way out

It's a tough balancing act for a player guarding the mark - does the player in fact have to wait for a play-on call from the ump before taking action -what's the wording of the rule exactly anyone?

That is where common sense is needed. If a player goes to play on but the umpire hasn’t called it they should let common sense prevail and allow the player to take the kick but not pay 50. Surely one of the umpire saw that and they could confer and figure it out.

Exactly. But the point is these annoying Yellow/Orange/White mossies are trying to become bigger than the game itself, the only time an umpire should be heard or seen is when he blows the whistle for a free kick, other than that let them get on with their job of officiating the game and cut out rubbish like wiring them up etc. They have enough to worry about without worrying what the mics are going to pickup

The 50m was a terrible decision. You have to wonder whether Mooney's reputation with umpires had anything to do with it.

I'm even more dumbfounded with Chapman's holding the ball. I went bananas in the crowd over that one and the Collingwood fans gave me that "What are you talking about?, of course it's a free" look.
