derailed and wasteland are the two worst maps i've ever played on any fps ever.

could've just had this whole thread in the mw2 thread as well.
 
Wasteland could have been better but everybody that plays it noob-tubes on it. When I play against other people that snipe on it its actually pretty fun and competitive.

chinatown from cod4 was shit too

funny that wasteland and chinatown are both remakes of older cod maps and are both shit


agreed. flipping hated that map when usually i love cqc type maps. (chinatown)

i didn't mind underpass but i didn't like it either.

wasn't a fan of the amount of 3x frag on the level and the guys who would just sit in the second story of buildings constantly.

didn't feel much of a flow to the level when practically every other map in the game had it.

to be fair though i probably only played it 5-10 times in total but it was the impression i got from every game i played.

lucky for me with the new ps3 i don't have the map pack on it so can just play the standard cod4 maps

I agree wateland is the worst map. The reason is that it's a snipers map only. Any other class is pretty useless on that map. As a result for the non-snipers to remain remotely competitive they have to resort to tubing.

I am curious to how others rank the maps on COD MW2. For me it's:

Wasteland:1/10 Snipers only map. Useless for other classes.
Estate: 3/10 As someone mentioned it's a very unbalanced map. If they had another "house" at the low area then it may have improved it a bit.
Rust: 6/10 Not really a map to take seriously but is great for novelty purposes and just to go nuts in. It's a load of fun going in with that attitude. Though awful for snipers.
Afghan: 6/10 Has many open areas and a few "confined" areas. Except for the middle part with the crashed plane there is really no area that would give you an advantage over other areas if you hold it. However I can't help to feel that snipers has too big an advantage on that map and could have used one more "confined" area to counter act that.
Rundown:5/10 This would be a great map IMO if it wasn't for one major flaw. The flaw is obviously that to get to the other side of the map there are only three bridges and on stair leading to the other side. This leads to players staying on one side only. Could have been improved a great deal if they had some kind of drain from the canel from both side that you can go up and end up in the middle of the building area.
Kirachi: 8/10 I used to hate this map so much when I started to play this game but now it's one of my favourites. Pretty well balanced except for that open area with the monument up the steps.
Skidrow: 9/10 The most balanced map in the game IMO. Can't think of anything to complain about it except that long hall way can be bit of a neusence.
Terminal: 7/10 This map appears to have something for everybody. The only problem there is little incentive for people to use the outside area and the kills streak awards are not very effective due to most of the level being undercover.
Underpass: 6/10 I know that many people on this thread knocked this map. But I don't mid this map so much. It's more balanced than most other maps. Though it's visually unappealing.
Quarry: 7/10 I believe that this is a fairly well balanced map. While the elevated area may the main place people play at, that lower elevation area has planty of buildings to take cover from and is not so bad.
Favela: 9/10 One of my favourite maps. I love using the "running" type class on this map even though other weopon classes are effective on this map too.
High Rise: 7/10 A good but not great map. The biggest complaint is that you are often too exposed coming out of the building. But at least they realised this and added tunnels to exit the building. Also when someone get's up on top of the building with a an insertion point can be annoying for people. (I find to fun though because I start to try to snipe them).
Invasion: 10/10 Except for the big building on the side of the map that nobody uses, I think this is the best map IMO.
Scrap Yard: 9/10 A great map for all classes except snipers. A fast pace action map that unlike Rust can be taken seriously while playing.
Sub-base: 8/10 (for free for all) 6/10 (team death match) A well balanced map when playing Free for all, but everybody seems to use one side when playing in Team Death match. Could easily been solved if it forced people to spawn on the other side of the map during team death match.

I hate Wasteland so much my words can't describe the amount of hatred I hold for this map. Unless you are sniping you are screwed as there is no way you can kill a guy from the other side of the map with an assault rifle before the sniper starts firing at you. Thermals are so damn irritating. Tubing is also another problem in this map. The tunnels are infested with OMA, Dangerclose noobtubers meaning there is no way to get through the tunnels unscathed. Plus the killstreaks are unstoppable in this map, chopper or ac130 means you that you will constantly get spawn trapped with the guy in the chopper racking up 15+ kills with it.

Terminal is alright besides when you play domination and you are stuck with the A flag. There is literally no way to get out with so many toobers firing down the corridor and from above the little room with the gas tank on top. Highrise is very much the same in domination. When you get stuck with one flag, the game is basically over as the moment you leave the window, you cop 50 bullets to your body before you get the chance to say ****.
