Really? So properly confirmed? I thought it was highly likely but still just want that confirmation.

I think the Wii U has the potential to be the best version, they have enough time to really play with the system to make it look good and the gamepad is pretty much perfect, those pop up bits with like "disconnect connection" and all that can be handled directly from the second screen which would be a lot better. I doubt it will be that far behind the PS4 version in terms of graphics seeing as it would be one of the first games out on it and as we know it takes a bit of time to get the best out of a system.
I said this earlier, but considering they're making the game on up to 6 platforms, I wouldn't be expecting what you are from gamepad stuff. They'd be very lucky to have time to put in exclusive features on one platform let alone get the actual game out on time for all 6 platforms.

Not only that, but with the pace of the game, I wouldn't have thought looking down at the gamepad to do half the stuff would be in the best interests of the game.

I could maybe see hacking mini-games taking place on the gamepad, but the minute to minute hacking will occur as it will on basic controller schemes.

It wouldn't be a big job at all putting in basic gamepad functions, they have to do something with it. Also I can't say that from what I've seen the game looks fast at all, I'm certain they will make good use of the gamepad you could do some really unique stuff with it. Also if you've played with the gamepad a bit it is not hard at all to look at both screens. Gamepad minigames is the last thing I want.

You have seen the gameplay haven't you?

If running down the street, seeing a cop car hurtling towards you and then having the timing to set up bollards all while still remaining in game isn't fast then I don't know what is. The same thing happened in the first gameplay demo with them changing the street lights to cause an accident. This is all while the game is still going, reactionary type decisions based on what you see happening around you.

I don't know if you're talking about looking at both screens via holding the pad up to the screen to see them both at the same time or if you're just saying you can have the controller in regular position (which I'd assume for most gamers is somewhere near or in the lap region) and managed to see both? But if you're taking your eyes off the action to tap the icon to hack a specific thing in the heat of the moment like that, you're going to be failing more times than not. And if it just turns into them running the game on the Wii U gamepad and that's how you hack everything, then isn't it just a waste of time? It's not exactly adding anything different, just a tap?

You don't need to add stuff to the GamePad screen just for the sake of it.

It's perfectly capable of functioning like a controller, because that's what it is. A controller. It just happens to have a touchscreen in the middle of it.
Agreed. Gimmicks for the sake of it just aren't needed when button inputs can be faster or easier to accomplish.

I'm sure at worst they'll have map integration, you'd hope this time unlike AC3 that you can set waypoints through it though and not just look at it.

The PS4 demo was seriously boner worthy.

Was a bit disappointed in how easily (how much the game play slowed down) the player blew up the electrical box and shot out the cops tire.

True, though we'll find out what that's all about in due time I guess.

I thought it may be some kind of max payne thing.
It looks like you may need that feature with the pace of the game as all that shit is going on

Yeah, I was thinking the Red Dead time. Hopefully you have to earn it.

Game mechanics reminded me of Sleeping Dogs.

I'm getting a real 'Person of Interest' vibe with this game. Looks nice.

November 19 release date confirmed.
I guess that may give some insight to the next gen release dates too.

Watch Dogs Release Date And Collector's Editions Announced Available November 19 in North America and November 22 in Europe.
by Luke Karmali
April 29, 2013

Ubisoft has announced that Watch Dogs will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC in North America on November 19 and in Europe on November 22.
Additionally, the company has revealed that the open-world action-adventure game will be available as launch title for the PlayStation 4, and is "also planned for other next-generation consoles". That'll be the next Xbox, then.
We'd heard previously that the game would be released in time for "Holiday 2013", so it's nice to know that every now and then rumours can turn out to be true.

In addition, four Collector's Editions of the game have been unveiled: the Dedsec Edition, the Vigilante Edition, the Uplay Exclusive Edition and the Special Edition.
The Dedsec Edition is the big one, and includes a figurine of player character Aiden Pearce, a steelbook and collector box, artbook and soundtrack, four augmented reality collectible cards and three badges, as well as a map of the game's Chicago. Additionally, three single player missions will be provided as digital content, adding around an hour of additional gameplay; the Palace Pack, centred on a police raid of an Internet mogul; Signature Shot, dealing with a biometrics weapon smuggled into Chicago; and the Breakthrough Pack, which tasks you with outing the criminals holding corporate CEOs to ransom.
The Vigilante Edition comes with a collector box, Aiden's cap and mask, and the game's soundtrack along with the Palace Pack mission, the Uplay Exclusive Edition comes with the steelbook and the three single player missions mentioned above and, finally, the Special Edition comes with the Breakthrough pack.

PS3 (and most likely PS4) version to have 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay.

The PlayStation 3 version of Watch Dogs will include 60 minutes worth of exclusive content unavailable on other platforms.

The bonus content was revealed via the game's updated box art, which was released alongside details of Watch Dogs' four special editions earlier today.

It's unknown what the exclusive content will consist of, however.

The 60 mins must be different to the 360 one then. The Dedsec edition on 360 is listed to come with 60 mins of additional gameplay too

3 single payer missions: almost 60 minutes of additional gameplay
  • Palace Pack: A police raid is planned on the luxury palace of an Internet mogul. His impressive databanks have intimate details on thousands of people…including Aiden Pearce. Break inside, wipe the hard drives and escape before the raid begins.

That's the same for each DeadSec Edition.

This will be similar to the AC4 exclusive missions.
