I have no time for watches...

I just can't understand why blokes spend thousands on a watch.

I'm happy with my $90 quicksilver one with silicone band.

I look at it and it tells me the time. Good watch.View attachment 324494

I followed suit and went with a rubber band as well

but at the end of the day, watches are quite personal items. so why not wear what you enjoy

true.

I've got a $200 pair of sun glasses I like wearing but I've got mates who earn big money but are content wearing $20 servo sunnies.

Each to their own.

most people that say they can't understand/wouldn't wear a watch worth thousands are hypocrites, drive around in cars worth 40,50,60,100 thousand etc, when they don't need to, they could catch a bus or buy a 5000 perfectly reliable car.

Years ago (like 20 odd) I spent some ridiculous amount on a pair of Oakleys. Not long after I was at a BBQ in Kings Park and joined in a game of kick to kick. I thought I'd put my new sunnies in my shirt pocket in case they fall off my face and get trodden on or something. Ball comes in and I take a chest mark without thinking - smash. Gawn. It's been tinted safety glasses from work and el cheapo cheapos ever since. Never again.

mustve bought fake oakleys.I have many oakley sunnies and have done a lot worse than take a chest mark, and never broken any. Popped the odd lens, but that's about it.

I bought a pair of Oakley whiskers I think they are called, best $140 I've spent. Only replaced one set of lenses a couple of years ago for $50 from the sunglass fix mob.

edit - the old man actually sat on them once and just had to carefully bend them back into shape.

A bloke on here was once complaining about how he simply couldn't afford $50 a month for foxtel for the preseason comp, then later in the thread admits to be paying off 2 near new cars and an 800k mortgage. Geez pal do you think you might have overextended yourself??

Once you break or lose a good pair of sunnies, you just have to get a new pair and move on.

I can never go back to cheap-o sunglasses. It's just ingrained into my brain now to look after them and know exactly where they are 24/7..even when blind rotten drunk.

For years I worked at a joint where you could pinch a new pair every week...but then I started working for myself 5 years ago and justified the $200 plus it costs to buy a decent pair of arnettes.

Once you go there you can never go back to safety glasses :)

yeah you can't compare

i've got serengetis too and polarised and it's just insane how good they are compared to even decent sunnies, let alone cheapos
