Has anyone else noticed what a good footy mind young Watson has. Seeing him play last year, and some of the handballs he dished off were reflections of his father. Gee he is going to be a gr8 player.

Yeah he's doin alright. :) He's getting more and more confident in every game he plays, hopefully he can sustain that confidence throughout the season.

I can see to that he is growing in confidence every match. He reads the play well. I think until Lucas goes down back, we won't see him show his full potential. i don't think I would like to see him in the middle, I don' t think he is quite quick enough. He is more suited to a key position, with his strength or a flank, with his agility. He is going to be a star though, not in the same league as his dad but defineatly up there. I don't think he will be a star until he dons the number 32.

He definitely doesn't want 32 - was offered it in his first season.

I'm hoping he's a midfielder - he's got the endurance, certainly not the pace, but Greg Williams and Robert Harvey were never quick either. He'd be a clearance expert, in my ideal world.

See him playing at Bendigo Bombers most of year, very overated

Will you be seeing him because you spend more time consuming yourself with our club rather than your own.

Your name is one of the more appropriate on BigFooty.

An original Bendigo supporter who doesnt follow the Bummers, got a problem with that. I reckon Watson is a hack. wouldnt be at the club if his surname wasnt Watson, what do you think ?

Probably not. Bit hard for him to get drafted under the father and son rule if he wasn't Tim Watson's son.
Would have gone top 20.

Would have gone top 20.

Geelong recruiting man Stephen Wells said he was a late first rounder had he not been a father son selection. That's coming from a bloke that has chosen a lot of good young talent recently.

So how is Roach, Tuck, etc going?

Wouldnt be at the club if it wasnt for their surname, eh?

like someone said he would have gone top 20, i would love him at ST Kilda. I remember watching his games at Xavier i was helping another guy doing the stats, it was him on the ball and luke ball in the forward line and i had to say who got the kicks and handballs to the guy tallying. The whole day it went ... handball-jobe, kick ball, kick jobe, handball jobe, handball ball, kick ball etc. Every week they would each get 40 possessions a game and a few goals.

Has one of the best footy minds i've seen, you have to when your slow but he's is exceptionally good. Will go a long way and hope he does as well

Yeah, thats why has battles to get a game. Not in top 22 at Bomberland and never will be !

Injury was why he battled to get a game.
Was in our best 22 come season's end in 2004.

You may recall his Semi-Final performance that netted him 17 disposals, a goal and along with his captain lifted his side into a position that nearly stole a place in a Prelim Final. Or perhaps you aren't aware that football continues into September.

Kicked 6 goals in his last 5 games.

I remember the goals, received easy hand balls over the top. Lets just wait and see about Jobe. See where he is in 3 years.

Easy handballs over the top??? How about the contested marks against Collingwood, or the hard ball gets to create goals against Carlton.

We talking about the same Jobe Watson?

Courageous as they come, the boy has played just 8 games, is 19 and is only now coming into his third season.
