In light of Brad Hartmans amazing progress. And hearing him talk about Matty Stokes influence. Id Love to see the likes of TV, Mots, Bundy and Stokesy get around waylen and bring him along for the ride. Phenomenal talent. 20, 6ft4, can do it all. Just needs to get fit and continue the progress he's shown on the Recruit. Personally reckon it would be a huge coup if we could get him.

He is so low on self belief. Plenty of issues to work on.
I reckon he needs more time to adjust to life away from home before he gets drafted.
However if he was to work out, it could be a great pick, it is just 1 spot on the list for what is a very talented player.
I'm not backing it at this stage.

You never know someone might offer him a rookie spot to see if they can get his fitness up to AFL standard. But given how easily he wanted to quit during every challenge I'd pass on him. Spend the time and money on someone who has the heart to give it his all. Not someone who'll want to chuck it in as soon as it gets too hard.

He would be drafted as a cat B rookie like Blitz but personally if we were going down the path of getting a guy from "The Recruit" id rather have Chris Moreland given he is a local product and a passionate Cats supporter

At the start of the recruit he showed no aptitude for getting through even a week. By the time he was done, he was light years ahead of where he'd started. And thats on a mickey mouse tv show with no indigenous support networks around him. Get him in a tight setting with our boys and we'd see him ultimately flourish imo. And to compare him to Garlett is just ignorant and stupid - no offence. Garlett wasnt and isnt from a remote community. he's from Perth. His issue wasnt a "go home factor" his issue is he is a dickhead binge drinking drug taking flog. Waylen is from a remote community. English is his 5th language. most people in melbourne would never have the slightest clue how hard "assimilating" into melbourne life would be for him, let alone slipping into an AFL team. The fact he lasted as long as he did on a crappy tv show speaks volumes for him i reckon. IMO seriously worth a spot.

I reckon hes got great up side, liked him the first time i seen him.
If he came to somewhere like geelong as a place might be good for him not as busy as the city (Melbourne).
Not to mention the support he would get from bundy, stokes, mots and the club.
Word on the street Chris (Moreland) will be in the last 3 with Wanger and that big magoo ruckman brady.

We have Luxford now as our Cat B Rookie, don't we ?
Surely clubs wouldn't be allowed to have a 2nd Cat B Rookie, unless of course Luxford got moved to the Rookie List
We had Blitz and Bathie...

Clubs must have a minimum of 38 players on the senior list with a maximum of 40 senior listed players.

Rookie list selections can then total between six and four with the number dependent on the senior list figure to make a total list number of 44.

Basically the magic number is 44 (with 38 the minimum number of senior listed players) for the primary list (which excludes Cat. B rookies).

6 is the max. number of rookies (Cat. A) a club can have.

But a club can also have 3 Cat B rookies outside the primary list.

So, a club could break it down like;

38 Senior Listed Players
6 Cat. A rookies
3 Cat. B rookies

Geelong in 2014
40 Senior Listed Players
4 Cat. A Rookies (Sherringham, Toohey, Bourke, Bates)
2 Cat. B Rookies (Blicavs, Luxford)

Sheringham can go maybe he might get a VFL spot seeing there prob after a new skipper unsure if he fits the bill.

Speaking about B rookies hows this Lux feller go? good to see the smaller ex basketballers get a go at AFL level.

Not sure he'll be going, he was named as an emergency last week.
