I'd be staggered if Cowan goes to the rookie list.
It makes absolutely no sense whatever.
If he's fit he stays on the main list.

When has he been fit?

We have Luxford now as our Cat B Rookie,don't we ?
Surely clubs wouldn't be allowed to have a 2nd Cat B Rookie,unless of course Luxford got moved to the Rookie List

Edit: been posted already

In addition to these six rookie-listed players, each club can include up to three additional players (now referred to as Category B rookies) on its Rookie List provided the player either:

• has not registered in an Australian Football competition for three years immediately before inclusion on the Rookie List;
• is an international player, meaning he is not an Australian citizen and has not lived in Australia for a substantial period;
• is a former NSW Scholarship player with that club;
• is a former International Scholarship player with that club;
• is a rookie Zone Selection for clubs based in NSW or Queensland.

I reckon hes got great up side,liked him the first time i seen him.
If he came to somewhere like geelong as a place might be good for him not as busy as the city (Melbourne).
Not to mention the support he would get from bundy,stokes,mots and the club.
Word on the street Chris (Moreland) will be in the last 3 with Wanger and that big magoo ruckman brady.
And Varcs- that's one of his roles at the club.

My mail is that Dawson is considering pulling the pin on it permanently...

Wouldn't be surprised.

Third op, Balmy said it was 'getting serious for him' and wondered aloud if it were worth his future well-being to carry on, and I thought it a strange comment when Selwood said he needed to 'man up'.

Sounds like a bit of depression. Selwood has no right to say man up if it is.

Haha I didn't see that. Assuming we're on the same page then. List clogger maximus.

Probably the wrong thread but surely this is not new new's. He is what he is what he is and it was obvious 12 months ago , if not more. Why we played he in preference to other listed kids , stupifing.

When did he make this comment, Cataholic? I hasn't heard a whiff of that before- disgusting if true and not taken out of context.

Balmey I think was expressing a concern for his long term health, and whether footy was worth it, which I respected, but I didn't quite know how to take Selwood's comment.
People without depression see life as Black or White, and Don't understand how the other person is thinking. To say 'Man up' is so wrong, that person is in a dark place, a deep hole, and they just feel empty.
There is a lack of feel good chemical (serotonin) in the brain.

I don't believe Selwood would say that. Not if the meaning of "man up" is as I interpret it.

Selwood's presser R23 before Brisbane......from about the 3:50 min mark.

Asked about Daws, Selwood, to paraphrase, says 'Daws is part of our future, he has to man up and get his body right'.

See my reply to DTC's post TC.

PS: I wasn't putting an interpretation on Selwood's use of the phrase 'man up' by the way....I was just saying that I got the impression early that Daws was in a spot of bother when considering Balmey and Selwood's comments in conjunction with each other, and hence I'm not surprised that he may pull the pin.

"Yeah the Selwood comment was unusual," sounds like there's big issues with Simpson of some kind, one we need to know more about, fat chance.

What I found unusual Meto was Selwood's deliberation on using that phrase, as much as the words themselves. Struck me as odd, and surprising.
