Seems unlikely to me that an annoucement like this would take place on Fox Footy rather than at an AFC press conference. For that reason alone I think it sounds dubious.

Or maybe he is annoucing his impending retirement at the end of the year, in which case it is hardly big news.

Yes he will be missed, he also played his worst football at the AFC. But the does not surprise me
