Congratulations Wayne on achieving 250 AFL games, it's been along time coming but enjoy it :) Even though six of them have only been with the AFC, I sure you will have a standing obvation on Saturday night!!!!!

Uh oh... milestone game. That can't be a good thing.

Since he's played 6 games for us and 244 for the Kangaroos, hopefully it means the Kangaroos lose. :D

Good luck Wayne!!

I hope this doesn't sound hard-hearted, but I don't give a rat's about Carey's 250th.

244 games for North Melbourne
6 for Adelaide

Says it all for me.

While it is a personal achievement for Carey, it means nothing to Crows' supporters or even the players for that matter.

On that logic it isn't a milestone game for the Crows.

So we will win. :D

In my opinion we must acknowledge and celebrate Wayne's achievement as he is now one of our own. A great AFL player at our club is celebrating his 250th.

This raises an interesting point.

Do you think the players and supporters have bonded with Carey?

An unbiased (if such a thing exists) friend of mine watched the Kangas game and was shocked at how the lads did not rally around Carey during the second quarter or after the match.

It was interesting watching talking footy and noting the Carey/McLeod conversation as they walked off. Carey was pulling on Maccas jumper to keep the conversation going. Didn't look like Macca wanted a bar of it.

Thoughts??

I think you are wrong

From what I have seen they have bonded together well

When he kicked the goal in the last quarter lots of players went to him and Mcleod jumped over the pack to get to him

At training Carey often strethces down with Mcleod and Bickley etc

Waynes 250th should be celebrtated

I have a feeling he will REALLY fire this week.

We won on Smart's 200th and Bickley's Testiomonial match at least.

   <- - - That's right, x3.

I distinctly remember Wayne and Macca having a laugh as they were walking off...

As for Carey's 250... it has to be celebrated. So what if he's played only 6 for us. He's one of the greatest players to ever pull on a guernsey and as of this moment, he's playing for us ;)

I would be very disappointed if there is no mention of Wayne's 250th on the team banner. I know he has been here for a very short time but I think it would be very ordinary if we didn't acknowlege his personal milestone and hopefully chair him off after the victory.:D

But get Biglands and Perrie to chair him off not McLeod and Bode. We want these 2 not to have back spasms after the game.:D

With the leadership group - most definitely. Roo, Bicks, Macca, Goody etc were the ones that met with Wayne and partially were responsible for him coming to West Lakes.

If you watch training he spends most of his time talking and associating with this group when the opportunities are there to do so.

He's not aloof from the younger players - not at all. They are a bit in awe of him, but so were the younger players at Arden St.

I think he's fitted in very well.

How's that? I only raised a question. I did not express an opinion one way or the other. :)

My friends opinion was based on what he saw on the field. I didn't particularly agree with it but I did notice the lack of physical support in the second quarter. Perhaps our lads figured he was taking care of himself? Perhaps they were focused on the footy?

The Macca/Carey conversation walking of the ground looked forced and uncomfortable to me, but that could well be a complete misinterpretation.

Cannot agree more that Wayne's achievement should be celebrated. As I said he is one of our own now.

We have to celebrate Wayne's 250th regardless of how many of those games are with the Crows as he is a Crow now & i would be very disappointed with the club if there was no banner on sat night congratulating the Ducks personal achievement in playing 250 AFL games,

Well done Wayne,

YOU made the comment about Carey pulling on McLeods's jumper

That's all:)

Makes me think of teh cartoon with the big dog and the small dog where the dmall dog loves the big dog and skips around him all day in delight. Spose this is the other way around, but still.

I know what you're saying. I did make the comment about the conversation. That image was what made me raise the question, that and my mates comments anyway.

Can't get outta my mind that McLeod wasn't interested in the coversation at all. But then that doesn't mean they haven't bonded, maybe Macca just doesn't like Carey's jokes!

Goodluckduck.
250 games at the highest level by the games highest player is a huge achievement.

I hope he rips into the Pie-eaters and contributes to a magpie floggin'.

I will be pretty unhappy if he isnt celebrated by the banner and chaired off as well.

:D Well Done Wayne :D

He is a Crow now and so his milestone should be celebrated! I wish him all the luck and lets hope he can play many more games for the mighty Crows.

I think he has settled in terrifically and he is a wanted and needed part of our club. I never thought I would say it but.......... I love Wayne Carey!!!!! (of course I still love Mark Stevens ;):D:p

I think the reason that our blokes stayed out of it last week was that the coach didnt want the game to get out of control. If our guys got involved things may have gotten too emotional between the clubs. As you said, their instructions were to stay focussed on the footy. Burns was the only one that got a bit shirty with 'em.

I think Wayne is very much part of the group. Think back to their reaction when he kicked the goals in the wizard Cup and in Round one. I have seen footage of traing and recovery sessions where he is having a laugh with the boys and training hard with them.

Good luck this week Wayne.

Good Luck Wayne!!!

Although he has only played six games for Adelaide, hopefully all you Adelaide supporters will acknowledge his champion status!!!

Go roos!
