Wallace continually refuses to select Will Thursfield and it finally came back to bite him on his sorry arse today. Thursfield plays on Tredrea and we win. Simple.
Moore got towelled up early and Bowden was Bowden.
Why can't you see it Terry?

yes we could have used him today, but bowden did much better on tredrea than moore or mcguane.

people will realise how important he is to our structure when he finally gets a game again,

a joke he's been out of the side for so long

Pretty much sums it up in a sentence.

What is the deal with Thursty not playing? Personally, i think he is easily one of our best defenders.

With finals totally out of the equation now, and if we are serious about youth, Bowden surely would have to make way for Will next week.

We lost because we turn the ball over too much and we lacked big bodied key defenders. If you think Thursfield could have handled Tredrea in those conditions you are deluded. Has about 10kgs on him.

we lost because we lacked leadership towards the end. Im not blaming the kids. Most of them were fantastic today. simmonds should never play again. Bring back patto.

he is our best defender. it's got me absolutely mysitified.
Moore, mcGuane and Thursfield formed a seriously solid defence for us last year and Wallace has gone and upended it all.
I don't know why?
\I will repeat. Will plays on Warren today and we win. Easy.

will would have keeped him quite in the first quarter.

You're funny sometimes. We didn't turn the ball over much today. We played a run and carry style that saw us three goals up in the last quarter. One of the reasons why we lost was because we reverted back to our hold-em-up chip sideways style in the last five or six minutes trying to hold the game up, when the run and carry style would have netted us two more goals and probably saw us come away with a three or four goal win. Port were down and out and we let them back in by changing our style.
Sorry, but the old turnover rant from you won't work today.
Think of something else, broken record.
Thursfield was easily our best option on Tredrea. If you can't see that, then you're the deluded one.

Sure we did, see the second quarter. Morton on the full at the end, Port probably wouldn't have had time to get forward if that hit a target. There weren't as many clear cut clangers this game, but we were still ineffective with the ball quite often. We did ok in the conditions considering, but if we were better users of the ball we would have won.

As for Thursfield, you are wrong.

Because we're tanking.

C'mon. We controlled that second half, took Cuz off at an important time and took the foot right off.

I was proud of our effort today, but watching it with a mate, i tunred to him and said 10 minutes into the last qtr if we lose it from here we must be tanking.

Dean Polo. He is as indecisive as Jordan McMahon. I know there are a few on this board who support him, and I'm unsure why. 4 times today he chose to take on the player before handballing to a player in advantage, and 3 of those 4 times resulted in Port Goals. Then his gutless display at putting an effort in on the ball resulting in Wallace having a quiet chat to him on the phone.

This guy won't take us anywhere, I'm yet to see anything past his first game for the Tigers, and it's his mistakes today that contributed to the loss.

In saying that, Ben Cousins. Match fitness is something. And this guy is the leader, the way he controlled the play during the game, to the talk to the boys at 3 qtr time. Newman, hand your captaincy back.

Petifer, welcome back, top performance. He'll stay. Kel Moore will need to be careful other wise Coburg beckons. Robin Nahas is the 21st century Chris Naish, what a prospect he is.

Tambling, and I'm slowly getting convinced but not getting carried away yet, is starting to show faith and promise. His run and drive today was superb. Cogs put a great effort in also. So many guys had a fair dinkum crack which was great. Great to see Cotchin get through the game though a bit quiet, but all good. Graham is standing up which a great.

It's not all dark and gloomy for us. Key Position Forward is a must, then we are on our way to the big time fellas.

Good effort, should've won, didn't win, so you have to speculate. :thumbsu:

in no particular order;
1. moore and mcguane were manhandled by tredrea, and always seem to play behind:o
2. missed a few easy chances to ice the game in the last quarter:o
3. morton brain snap with 1 1/2 minutes to go, trying to snap a goal
in damp conditions
:mad::mad:

I'm not sold on Raines either. Rance in the side today would have tightened the backline. His or Thursfield.

Isolated turnovers do not constitute a performance that is riddled with them. We hit most of our targets today and played through the corridor. Even Geelong turns the ball over occassionally.
Morton's decision was baffling, but then again, he is a selfish footballer.
Thursfield would not have allowed Tredrea to kick 7.4. I am right.

We did better, but it was not good enough. We hit more targets we win the game.

Thursfield is at Coburg for a reason, and has not been given no.1 key defender duties since 2007.

We lost because of our poor backline.
Maybe Thursfeild could have done better(wouldnt be hard).
Moore, Polo and McGuane are weak skinny dumb footballers. Together with White,Foley,Newman,Collins and Raines we simply cant get the ball from one end to another without one of these guys screwing the link up.

I was constantly frustrated about the fact that a Port player was always in front to mark the ball. Richmond were playing from behind for most of the day.

I also heard on the radio (3aw or SEN, can't remember) that the reason Thursfield hasn't had a game was due to his attitude and effort during preseason, that it hasn't been up to standard. When I heard it it sounded pretty harsh on the bloke. Did anyone else hear this??

Why did morton play and kick it out of bounds with 1.30 sec to go??? why??

Why did they leave Andrew" my man gets best on " Raines, on ebert for so long. he had a hand in nearly all their goals.

Polo, dear oh dear. AS i have already said, I have failed for some time to see his attributes? how slow is he? Now he pulles out. bye bye.

You aren't a Richmond supporter so please don't use the word "we're".

What are reading these posts via... Braille?

I'm a diehard Richmond Supporter and long time member. I'm not going to have some poster accuse me of not being one mate, so lets set that in stone.

I love the Tigers, and I hope we aren't tanking. But we controlled that match from the 10 minute mark of the 3rd quarter, got into a dominant position in the last, took Cousins off, dropped Deledio back, and just slowed down. We played great today, nearly our best side bar a few (which I mentioned earlier), but it was our best display for the year today.

But maybe you're just pissed, as I am, that we lost today. Maybe the chemist also is open on Sundays for you. I don't know. Maybe this is China and we don't have freedom of speech. All i know is that we should have won that game today. It makes me wonder.
