How was Surjan with his 'soccer-like' attempts to play for a free kick twice in the last 5 minutes?

Bloody poor.

Why did morton play and kick it out of bounds with 1.30 sec to go??? why??

Why did they leave Andrew" my man gets best on " Raines, on ebert for so long. he had a hand in nearly all their goals.

Polo, dear oh dear. AS i have already said, I have failed for some time to see his attributes? how slow is he? Now he pulles out. bye bye.

Poor, and hasn't improved. One for the culling at seasons end. :thumbsu:

blah! nothing to say it's shattering.

I'd have loved to see Thursfield in, hopefully he's brought back.

With our lack of a key forward and Riewoldt kicking 6 he'l probably come back in next week. I'd drop Simmonds for Riewoldt, and then bring Pattison back in also, not sure how he went at Coburg though.

For some that are bagging McGuane, he lost the battle today for the short time he was on Tredrea but did a pretty good job on Motlop. Sometimes key defenders get beaten by good key forwards, it happens to even the best. Fact is I think McGuane has probaly won 7 of his 8 duels with key forwards this year. He just had not his best day.

Nahas was awesome, loved watching him, his tackling and pressure created goals as well as the 5 he kicked himself.

Tambling continues to show some good signs.

And I though Cotchin did a few good things, took a great mark and kicked a nice goal, just needs to re adapt to the pace of AFL.

Unlucky and dissapointing, but a lot of small positives to take from the game.

Pettifer didn't have enough intensity when the game was in the balance and made a few half hearted efforts and mistakes in the last quarter as did Collins and Bowden was again woefull, the reason Tredrea was quieter when Bowden was moved to him was because he didn't get the same delivery but one on one Tredrea gave all our defenders a hiding.
Sausage Roll I'd swear I seen Cotchin today, remarkable recovery from that 5-6 weeks achilles injury you had him with last week.
Polo is inexperienced, in terms of game time, and like Collins now needs to go back and have two games, at a minimum, with Coburg, as does Raines untill he is fit and regained confidence in his knee.
Reiwoldt, Thompson, Pattison, Thurstfield and Schulz are all still in our best 22.

I think people need to understand that Moore and McGuane can only do so much. Neither of these two could have been expected to stand next to that tank. Thursty would have been treated the same way.

last year Shulz got tank duties... Rance has replaced him, unfortunately not there today.

Very easy to point at Kel Moore and McGuane today but neither of them is the correct match up and for whatever reason we didn't pick one.

Because we're tanking.

C'mon. We controlled that second half, took Cuz off at an important time and took the foot right off.

I was proud of our effort today, but watching it with a mate, i tunred to him and said 10 minutes into the last qtr if we lose it from here we must be tanking.

Someone forgot to tell Nahas you were tanking

Dean Polo. He is as indecisive as Jordan McMahon. I know there are a few on this board who support him, and I'm unsure why. 4 times today he chose to take on the player before handballing to a player in advantage, and 3 of those 4 times resulted in Port Goals. Then his gutless display at putting an effort in on the ball resulting in Wallace having a quiet chat to him on the phone.

This guy won't take us anywhere, I'm yet to see anything past his first game for the Tigers, and it's his mistakes today that contributed to the loss.

In saying that, Ben Cousins. Match fitness is something. And this guy is the leader, the way he controlled the play during the game, to the talk to the boys at 3 qtr time. Newman, hand your captaincy back.

Petifer, welcome back, top performance. He'll stay. Kel Moore will need to be careful other wise Coburg beckons. Robin Nahas is the 21st century Chris Naish, what a prospect he is.

Tambling, and I'm slowly getting convinced but not getting carried away yet, is starting to show faith and promise. His run and drive today was superb. Cogs put a great effort in also. So many guys had a fair dinkum crack which was great. Great to see Cotchin get through the game though a bit quiet, but all good. Graham is standing up which a great.

It's not all dark and gloomy for us. Key Position Forward is a must, then we are on our way to the big time fellas.

Good effort, should've won, didn't win, so you have to speculate. :thumbsu:

Agree with most of this though. Thought the Tigers were really hungry, worked hard for each other and showed some moments of brilliance. Very unlucky in the end. Hopefully a performance that will turn your season around.

And Cousins - still a good recruit in my books. Decision making was top notch.

I also heard on the radio (3aw or SEN, can't remember) that the reason Thursfield hasn't had a game was due to his attitude and effort during preseason, that it hasn't been up to standard. When I heard it it sounded pretty harsh on the bloke. Did anyone else hear this??
Thursfield not getting a game is completely baffling. This is about the only thing that could explain it. Not sure that it explains him still being out at round 8 though.

Thursty should have played all 8 games this year. We should be building our defence around Thursty, Mcguane and Rance. Moore is a good depth player but I doubt he'd get a game at most afl clubs

Prob a reasonable call on Moore , he has been as equaly dissapointing as the early season form that dropped thursty...

We dont win because we dont protect the ball carrier well enough via sheperds and screens. Thats why our skills look poorer than most because they are more often then not under extreme pressure.

Simmonds is done. Kelvin moore was horrible.

it was wallace that said this on radio b4 the lions game."poor pre season and not the correct attitude".so why did he play him round 1 and refuses to play him now?
