Im Sick of us just kicking it long to richo. You look at how st kilda are. They have 3 big marking targets, and 2 good crumbers in guerra and milne and normally someone like a powell goes forawrd aswell.

Since Krakouer is going in the midfield and browny is more in the midfield we need moore options down there.

Its time we got some more little crumbers and some big people.

Throw out some suggestions on who u think would be a good pickup from a rival club who isnt getting game time.

I think steve johnson from the cats would be perfect for us. He is a good player with great skills and good awareness and played well for them last year. Isnt fitting into the site because of other players playing so well. Still young and could be a guerra pickup ala the saints.

Your thoughts?

First player we need is a CHF if Morrison doesn't come up. I heard Nathan G Brown mention Justin Longmuir would fit the bill if he stays out of favour at Freo. I notice he's in their side atm but is regularly dropped for no apparent reason, as happened to Maxfield when he was at Richmond which always bemused me.

It's not just our forward line that's our problem. We seriously lack a couple of key defenders in the Adam McPhee mould. The big opposition forwards kill us every time. Rocca hasn't had a kick for 2 years and all of a sudden he's had a picnic against us.

Yeah i feel sorry for Ray, he's done a good job, one on one against Rocca isn't going to be easy for the lad. Our forward line is fine, keep looking for Richo and have Krakouer and Rodan crumbing. We achieved results on Saturday night when we got it into the 50, unfortunately our onballers were decimated and Kangaroos won it out of the middle/clearances time after time.

We are 16th in the comp at inside 50s. Doesn't matter if you have the best forward line in the world if you can't get the ball to them.

Totally agree with this statement, I can't remember the last time that the Tigers had midfielders that could win a clearance. I pray for Coughlan to return quickly.

We need a new fwd line, we need a new midfield, we need a new defence. Every week we need something.

They said the same things about the Lions before Matthews got up there.

What we need is a new coach. One with the premiership experience of Matthews preferably. If not premiership experience as a coach, premiership experience as a player.

You get a coach who has won more wooden spoons as a player than any other going around, and look what happens. You become a wooden spoon team.

Unfortunately they don't grow on trees. Mathews, sheedy, malthouse, pagan are entrenched where they are.

Wallace deserted a sinking ship and has no morals, eade got the flick. Who's left? All untried rookies.....o'donnell, harvey, royal?

Doesnt look good. Casey would be desparate to land sheedy but it wont happen.

We all criticise Sheedy for using us to get more dollars out of the bummers. Everytime his contract is up, he comes out with line about how he'd like to go back to Tigerland someday. So we all accuse Sheedy for being all about the money.

It has been widely reported that a group of businessmen are prepared to pay $1m for the 1st year of Sheedy's contract if he coached RFC. The premise being that there will a rush of new memberships flooding the club in the 2nd year if Sheedy coaches us.

If Sheedy is all about financial security, then he's got it.

So what's the f kn problem?

Even a corrupt, out of legs board run by Elliot was able to get Pagan. He was a coaching legend at the Roos. He left for the money.

What is stopping our board doing the same if its being funded outside the club? The answer is probably that our board is even worse than the last days of the Elliot board at Carlton.

And if that's the case, we need a new president as much as we need a new coach.

Worse case scenario, I'd rather try a rookie that's won a premiership as a player than persist with a coach that won wooden spoons.

We need a decent Midfield to help out Cogs, Johnson and Brown

look at any top team and they all have quality midfielders that they rotate over a game

3 maybe 4 midfielders isnt enough against teams with 5-6 top midfielders

i also rate both longmuir boys quite highly, they were picked up by melbourne were they not ... i think justin is a huge talent, and troy is a pretty skillful flanker. they are not really part of the freo structure, much like croad wasn't, so i wouldnt be suprised if they traded them both, as a package. i mean have a look at their talls, sandilands, symonds, pavlich, polak, mcpharline, the list goes on.

i want them both at carlton tho ... so back off!!! only kidding :D, but ive got a feeling that a melbourne club will get them.

im not sure if thats what u need tho ... u need cogs up and running and another good midfielder to support, brown, johnson, campbel etc.

idea

Hall to Sydney for Saddington.
Gaspar to WCE for Staker and their third-round selection.
WCE third-round selection to Melbourne for Lamb.
Bowden to the Dogs for Giansiracusa.
Ottens to Port for their first-round selection and Damon White.
Port's first-round selection to Collingwood for Jason Cloke and their third-round selection.
Collingwood's third-round selection to Carlton for McCormick.

leaves you with:

Chaffey - Lamb - Kellaway
Campbell - Saddington - Cloke
Gian'cusa - Coughlan - Krakouer
Brown - Morrison - Staker
White - Richardson - Zantuck

Stafford - Johnson - McCormick

INT: Blumfield, Roach, Tivendale, Rodan

All the players traded for a younger than those they replace. Then you still have all your selections, and you entice the youngest Cloke to Richmond because one of his brothers is there.

As if ya'd want 2 get rid of Bowden & Ottens & Hall even, u idiot

the future is in the young guys, ya can go right ahead get rid of em & b left wid older guys

gayness

For starters i aint touching lamb cloke or mccormick with a 10 foot pole. I would be very happy with staker.

Fiora would make that best 22. The bowden trade would be nice but i would expect a bit more from it.

We should entice some more forwards like steve johnson who is talented and not getting a game, Troy Longmuir who is talented and doesnt get picked for freo. We need to do what the saints did with guerra and pick a gem.

Collingwood's third-round selection to Carlton for McCormick.

Your kidding he isnt even worth it.

We really should look at some of the freo guys who aint geting a game. Guys like scott thornton who could hold down CHB for us. We really do need to rebuild. Im all for draft picks we do need a new coach and some good development and trading. I wouldnt mind trading chaffey or rodan we could get sumthing good.

The problem with our list is that we already have too many fringe type players. We don't need any more types that struggle for a game at other clubs.

Tiva on the bench? McCormick on the ball?

You idiot.

chill winston.

Heh. Firey bunch, aren't ya? Tryuthfully I'm just having a dash - you need a better coach. Someone who can make Bowden, Ottens, etc. play decent footy.

Wrenny - you mention our need for crumbers. Remember a few years back when we drafted Hudson. I'm still seeing my therapist over that one. On a serious note, we do need to restructure the forward line and get a couple more goal kickers in there. Relying on one bloke is just not going to work long term.

Before we work on the forward line though, I think we need to do some serious re-building on our defense followed by midfield. Our defense is very poor.

I think we got tricked into recruiting crumbers about 5 years ago and don't want us to repeat that mistake. Five years ago it was all about Jeff Farmer and Luke Power crumbing goals. Well they do, but don't win you much games. If anything, good crumbers help you kick big scores in a winning team.

We went and drafted Hudson, Pettifer, Houlihan, etc to get crumbers. God, that year we pretty much only drafted crumbers! Problem was they are not the thing that will improve our team. We need good KPPs (and onballers wouldn't hurt!). Once we have that we can slot Krakouer or Brown in the pocket here and there.

I would say crumbers are a useful addition to a good team but not something to build the team around.
