As much as people are playing it down he will leave a huge gap in our team. Yes he was getting on but he played a pivital role in our team. The real question is who will fill the CHF role? The Mackie's and Nathan Abletts will take a couple of years and our midfeilders are hitting there prime now.

Not sure why you started a new thread on this but anyway...

Lonergan and McCarthy are the two obvious replacements at CHF for the next 2 or 3 years. At least one of them needs to stand up and realise that they have just been given a lifeline and a chance to make it as an AFL footballer.

Or Playfair. He has played 20 odd games now, is i think 21 and should be started produce some good performances on the field. In most of the games he has played in recntly he has been used in the ruck or as a 3rd tall. I however believe he should be used as a forward as how showed some promise playing in that postion earlier on in the year and his foot diposal isn't good enough when coming out of defence. Thompson has previously stated that he wants to use playfair more as a forward and and with mooney now capable of being the 3rd tall defender here is his chance.
