We promised Putt Pick 18!!!

Was just talking to a fella who knows Putt very well. He tells me that Wallace had told Putt that they would take him with pick 18. When they called out Rance(didn't expect HIM to be there still) Putty was apparently shattered and his old man (massive unit) was ranting and raving and threatening to go down and pull Wallaces head off. All ended well though. Seems we have done even better in this draft than first thought. This time we can believe Miller when he says he can't believe this kid slipped!

His parents must have been ***** if they thought we would have taken anyone but Rance there.

Obviously that would have been the main reason as to why we took so long to take Rance, probably weighing up the chance of Putt still being available at 51.

Early days and ruckmen do take time to develop but the kid has a massive upside. Is a couple of inches taller than Kreuzer and similar athleticaly.

It is not crap at all mate. Maybe swap the word 'promised' with 'told'. The facts are that Putt was told he would be pick 18 and when he wasn't he temporarily shat himself, and his old man went beserk.

Secondly it does not make us look amateurish at all. Ask Bling where Hawthorn told him he would be after pick 2 in 2004. Clubs indicate to players that they will take them at certain picks all the time.

Well I beleive some truth to the story.

Maybe they told him he is a strong chance to be picked up at 18 if all goes to plan. We may have said we really want him and will strongly consider him at 18. It doesn't mean we said "we will definitely pick you with 18 no matter what" even if that's how he may have interpreted it.

The fact that he was shattered shows that he really wants to play for Richmond.
