Tall, lanky and claimed by some to be a 'gun CHF in the making'...Mr. Deluca was tall, slow and couldn't hold a mark. Couldn't reach down to pick up the ball when it was on the ground, and in his final year was playing with gloves!!

Pagan loved this bloke, thought he was some sort of Cory McKernan type player. Remember what he did when we had him???

hahah good old deluca!!!

2 years ago at the Point for NYE i saw Deluca at the bar and yelled out his name.

had a chat to him and ask why did u quit, you were a gun!!!! even though i was joking!!

even took a photo with the guy!!! what a laugh!!

What is the purpose of this thread?

Put it in the other threads on ex-players that weren't good enough.
It appears that we are running out of current players to demean so it is now time to move on to former players. :p

why did he quit anyways???

he supposedly had business opportunities he wanted to progress further into which didn't allow him while at the Blues since it would take up most of his time!!!

He kicked five against us one game - goes to show how crap the Roos where that day!

Actually had some ability. But then the marks stopped sticking, and it got worse when the glove appeared. He seemed to lose interest in the game after a year or 2. :)

Dont think he ever kicked 5 against anyone. He kicked 3 in a quarter against North in one of those quarters that makes us all think we had a player.

a la Russell in q4 v Port.

Deluca was at KPMG and left to work in London.

What frustrated me with Deluca the most was that he was pretty soft for a big bloke, not unlike Josh Fraser.

still remember him sinking collingwood with a few goals. cant remember the round or year, maybe 03?

2004, Blues were 27 points down to the filth 5 mins into the last qtr. Up step Davies and Deluca to play the qtrs of their lives and we win by 9 points. Great Day:)

That was one of my best footballing matches i've been too :thumbsu::)

Sorry no good memories of me for Deluca ..

Big soft-hearted DUD ...

I recall though when he was in his first season, Parrot was a big rap for the DAA-LUCAAAA, but soon fell off the bandwagon fast, like we all did ..

Not as bad as Cain Ackland, but rather close, in the Dylan Mclaren variety of dud ruckmen ..

That's right, my second thread was gonna be...

I Remember the adventures of Karl 'Stormin' Norman and Lawrence 'Laurie' Angwin in Dopes about town :D :D

Actually Laurie Angwin would have been unreal, if the bloke just wasn't so messed up with drugs and other off-field issues ..
Anyone remember that game he played against West Coast ... I feel damn sad seeing such an awesome talent go to waste ...

I reckon Karl Norman would've been a good player for the blues.. Just my opinion DON'T FLAME ME PEOPLES!!!

Funnily enough he actually played a ripper off the HBF that very same day. Think Davis kicked 4 for the Pies just for a change. There's more than a touch of Norman in Emu Bower I reckon. The long-armed, rangey way he goes about it is similar to KN's attacking style. Disgraceful waste.

Poor old Deluca.

It would seem that Pagan had some issues with big blokes and just loved destroying them mentally. McKernan will tell you all about it.

Maybe some lanky six foot sixer used to pinch his (Pagans) lunch at school or something, so he harbored some sort of morbid hatred for them.
