The saints just have one too many quality midfielders and are able to rotate of the bench with players like Harvey.

Absolutely pathetic.
so unaccountable, players leaving to much space to opposition, really angry with this performance.
NOT competitive at all. if anyone argues that, how can being down by 60pts be competitive..

We will never beat saints until we can match their midfield

well im going to be more worried about next week now. this game just showed how far behind we are, Port are going to thump us.

If the saints played Port next week they would beat them by 10 goals.

Kane Johnson - out
Chris Hyde - out

Its going to be tough...

There is a little bling bling that needs to get a game next week for us.

well said caster too many supporters watch us with rose colored glasses
we were shocking tonight. i could'nt believe the amount turnovers we gave the saints that resulted in easy goals. we looked as soft as butter tonight
and why won't they pick up their men when the oppostion have got the ball?.

The pressure in the midfield was on, we just crumbled without a yelp. I don't think I saw any fight back at all. I can't see how people can take any postives out of a 68pt belting. I know a 2004 16th side shouldn't be expected to beat or come very close to a 2005 finalist contender, but 68pts is how we were dealt with last year, I thought this team was going to be competitive against these types of sides.
So far its been :
Geelong ( Propable Top 4 ) - 62pt loss
St Kilda ( Probable Top 4 ) - 68pt loss
Whats going to happen when we face West Coast, Melbourne, Kangaroos etc. West Coast's midfield is alot better than St Kilda's, I'm not going to look forward to that match.
In a way, I see this loss not to be the end of the world, if this team proves it has integrity and can bounce back, It will restore my faith. We never bounced back after all those losses after Round 8, wonder if that will change.

Deep breaths champ.

Saint Kilda & Geelong are very good sides.

Like Wallace says, it shows us where we are at.

You are just not good enough to beat St.Kilda.

Wow, thanks for that brainiac!
You Eagles fans sure know how to chew things over and then come to a conclusion. Your Restaurnat Rules. Oh! hang on a second apparently it doesn't.
The Eagles will probably win the flag, but if you're anything to go by then the eagles fans certainly won't win any mastermind competitions!
Go and read an encyclopedia and look up personality - you're obviously lacking some of it!

Anyone care to guess the 22?

Assume Hyde, Johnson, Hartigan, Schultz, Newman are all out.

Graham Gaspar Hall
Bowden Kellaway Jackson
Tivendale Coughlan Deledio
Brown Richo Simmonds
Krakouer Stafford Pettifer
Knobel Tuck Chaffey
Campbell Tambling Raines Meyer

I listened to the first half over here via net radio-wasn't pretty -dropped a zannax and woke up 5 hours later.

From what i heard,Fiora was killing us.
Good 4 him.
Bad for us

Stkilda midfield sounded aewsome .

No, definitely not killing us, was just on the end of typically excellent Saint buildups. The commentators will always hype up a player who's having an average/good game if it's his first against a former side.

The triple M footy team actually thought Richmond had a lot to be proud off. All key performance indicators where up around the saints levels. We jusr aren't anywhere near as good as them in all facets of the game.

Hardball gets, inside 50's, marks, tackle etc. Its the turn overs that killed us and what we did whe we rebounded.

When you play attacking footy and turn the ball over good sides will hurt you, thats why our losing margin is so high. I don't mind this happening against good sides, ie Geelong and Stkilda. Its the games against teams in the same league as your own where the result is important. Against these sides this year we have won.

Hyde is alright after his KO isn't he? If it was just a concussion I'd expect him to play this week.

No.

Concussion is neally always a 1 week injury.
Hydes was... pretty bad.

thats right our performance actually exceeded my expectations...we are well on the way with just a few areas to work when under pressure. With our impeccable record of not losing two in a row in season 2005 i expect us to rebound against a struggling port power this weekend

So Einstein, whats your reason for dropping Newman?
He's been one of the key reasons our defence has improved over the past 3 games
