The Richmond supporters didnt start booing the players late in the match. When the game was there to be won, we didnt want to. Side ways kicking the backline was just too slow and predictable and the crowd took it into their own hands basically and started booing. From then on, Richmond seemed to try and win the game. What a wake up call it was.

The tactics at the Richmond Football Club are shitting me up the wall. We have young, fast players who maybe cant run out a whole match but could play some real burst football. Polo, Deledio, Tambling, Foley, Raines, Edwards - the list goes on. These blokes arent slow. Why arent we making them run and bounce? (ala Deledio last week?)

Kick ins are still too slow. What happens is Newman or Bowden have to wait for that crappy huddle to take place in the middle. Then when the players break, they have to wait for some on the pockets and flankes. What a joke. Then, when that player recieves, he'll go to player say 15m away then.. WHAT FOR IT... a switch. Then another switch, and another. How bloody predictable. And what happens at training is the forwards train for this. The constant switching. Its a ****ing joke - go down and watch them and I guarantee you'll see Rawlings and one of his buddies playing kick to kick in the middle with the forwards trying to run off their man.

Our gameplan doesnt exist.

Fair call.

But on the other hand our players have shown they cant play direct football because when the pressure is on their lack of experience really shows. This is where we really need nathan brown. He gets the ball, keeps a cool head, and either slams it home from 50 on the boundary or spots up a teammate 20 metres out right in front. When it comes to inside 50s, our youngsters panic, they either try to take people on so they can get closer to goals and get caught (main culprit = edwards) or they go for quick sprint and a blind bomb to the square (raines).

What I want to know is why is pettifer so crap this year when it comes to inside 50s. Wasnt he top 10 for the league last year? If i recall correctly it was his play around the 50 metre arc that made up for brown's absence.

what was most frustrating, with under a minute to go we kicked the ball backwards to a contest and then when the ball made it forward of center to kane johnson he elected to try and pin point a pass to about 40 out and kit a brisbane player on the chest. if he had torped it as long and as far towards the goal square as he could have, we might have been able to rush a point and would have won. surely they were told by then that there was very little time left.

Apparently Jake King didn't know. The commentators were saying how it was going to be a short quarter, and many players might not know.

You'd think that the runners and whomever else would have made it clear to the players, but who knows?
