14 J. Villeneuve (CAN) BAR 1:24.333 +1.975
15 J. Wilson (GBR) JAG 1:24.343 +1.985
16 G. Fisichella (ITA) JOR 1:24.725 +2.367
17 R. Firman (IRL) JOR 1:25.223 +2.865
18 J. Verstappen (NED) MIN 1:26.052 +3.694
19 N. Kiesa (DEN) MIN 1:27.023 +4.665
20 C. da Matta (BRA) TOY 1:55.138 +32.780

Great effort by Webber, looks like the R4 has got some speed at the Hungaroring, the challenge is now to back it up tomorrow. Surprising to see the likes of Montoya, M. Schumacher & Räikkönen down as far as they are. Given the dusty nature of the Hungaroring a late qualifying run is most advantageous so they will need to work hard tomorrow. Michelin runners fill 5 of the top 6 places, with the resurfacing of the circuit it looks like they have the advantage in Hungary. Should be a fascinating final qualifying tomorrow, here's hoping Webber can improve or consolidate today's performance!

Great laps from Trulli and Webber, now they has to take advantage. Anything in the top 5 would be super, anything in the top 8 would be good.

Wilson had want to improve and fast.

Webber 3rd again in Saturday Qualifying!

Mark Webber did it again to record his best result in qualifying this season! I tend to think that he is running a light fuel load and will be going for a 3 stop strategy but even so it is a great effort by Mark & Jaguar Racing. Here's hoping for a great performance from him tomorrow! The times were:

1 F. Alonso (ESP) REN 1:21.688 0.000
2 R. Schumacher (GER) WIL 1:21.944 +0.256
3 M. Webber (AUS) JAG 1:22.027 +0.339
4 J. Montoya (COL) WIL 1:22.180 +0.492
5 R. Barrichello (BRA) FER 1:22.180 +0.492
6 J. Trulli (ITA) REN 1:22.610 +0.922
7 K. Räikkönen (FIN) MLA 1:22.742 +1.054
8 M. Schumacher (GER) FER 1:22.755 +1.067
9 D. Coulthard (GBR) MLA 1:23.060 +1.372
10 O. Panis (FRA) TOY 1:23.369 +1.681
11 N. Heidfeld (GER) SAU 1:23.621 +1.933
12 J. Wilson (GBR) JAG 1:23.660 +1.972
13 G. Fisichella (ITA) JOR 1:23.726 +2.038
14 J. Button (GBR) BAR 1:23.847 +2.159
15 C. da Matta (BRA) TOY 1:23.982 +2.294
16 J. Villeneuve (CAN) BAR 1:24.100 +2.412
17 H. Frentzen (GER) SAU 1:24.569 +2.881
18 J. Verstappen (NED) MIN 1:26.423 +4.735
19 Z. Baumgartner (HUN) JOR 1:26.678 +4.990
20 N. Kiesa (DEN) MIN 1:28.907 +7.219

Ralph Firman will miss the race after a big shunt in practice earlier in the day, he was taken to hospital but cleared of major injury. Hungarian Zsolt Baumgartner (Jordan's test driver) will take his place for the race. Again Michelin runners looks be doing far better indicating that they will have the edge this weekend. Montoya also has given himself a small break on M. Schumacher and Räikkönen as well which could be very handy given that it is very difficult to pass on the Hungaroring. A great performance by Alonso as well to claim the pole! I wouldn't be surprised if Renault or Jaguar get podiums or even win the race tomorrow as the Hungaroring can sometimes favour the teams that are not always at the front (e.g. Arrows in 97) It's shaping as very interesting race tomorrow, GO WEBBER!!!!!

You're probably right about Webber on the light fuel load, but Wilson would have been on a similar one and he's way down in 12, so evenso it was a brilliant effort.

I would love to see Webber get a podium...Montoya has the chance to really punish Schumacher too.

Mate, in case you weren't paying attention have a look at the fourth post on this thread. I notice that Montoya, M. Schumacher & Räikkönen have qualified in the top 10 for the race. I also notice that a certain Mark Webber outqualified the lot of them!;)

Sorry mate i didn't see that post but just to let you know that webber will not even finish in the top 5 i will bet you any money so just get ****ed.

Good stuff there by Webber.

Hopefully he is not running light. Hopefully he is on the same strategy as the other guys(doubt it) so he can maintain a very strong position. Michelin again doing very well. Dont think it will be a very exciting race as its hungary but we will see. If Alonso is on the right stategy he has a very good chance of winning this one.

GO WEBBER AND MCLAREN.
