Does anybody here use any particular application to make websites?

I run a mac and am a complete novice... I want to create a website and launch a brand new project but I'm no good with html or php or anything I require.

Are there any website developers on here?

It's a WYSIWYG editor, so you'll be able to create a website without having to do much coding.

You'll probably need to do some Googling to learn how to use it. But, if you're serious about your project I'm sure you'll be willing to devote some time to it.

And if you're really serious and this project is something that's going to make you money, then somewhere down the track you should probably learn to code or pay someone who knows how to do the dirty work for you. Your website will be a lot more successful if it's done right.

Thanks for the responses guys, I'll have a look.

Now, there aren't any developers in here that have a little free time and want to take a leap of faith into a project that I believe has great potential?

Yeah, +1 for Dreamweaver. Very user friendly.

Another vote for Dreamweaver.

Ive done a few sites using it and found it easy, im pretty good with computers but didnt have much knowledge of html or PHP

The best thing to do if your not sure is to search YouTube, there are hundreds of people who create free how-to videos that are very helpful. if you cant find it on YouTube, Google will have something to help out.

windows notepad ;)

have you looked into the hosting side? depending on where you have your site hosted, they may have their own tools that could be useful.

probably looks like a daunting prospect but you can pull it off.
before you start playing with dreamweaver, i would plan it all out on paper first. both in a visual sense, and a sort of sitemap. like a family tree if you will.
wysiwyg editors have been notorious in the past because their users have made some damn ugly stuff (geocities, homestead).
i'd probably set aside some time to design a common visual theme that runs through the site. backgrounds, colors, fonts, (menus) that sort of thing. it could visually relate to the product or not.

also take those ideas with a grain of salt... i only maintain a couple of webpages on an unpaid, hobby level. if you're using dreamweaver the main problem really is going to be how it looks.
