WTF is this shit?

There are a couple of things schools don't teach kids despite being so obvious.

1) People whinge..............I don't get paid enough.

Guess what, that was true for every generation in history.

2) Property prices are getting more unaffordable

Guess what, that was true for every generation in history.

What does a shit parent and shit school teacher do?

1) Life's not fair, the system is broken, the system is corrupt, the rich just get richer, unions good, blue bloods bad

This is akin to child abuse and during the all important part of brain development, damaging how the child looks at life

What does a good parent do?

1) DO NOT pay allowance for doing ordinary choirs around the house

You live in the house, You are a part of the community in the house, You all pull your weight. Pay the kid to do extra things over and above choirs and encourage them to get a job around the age of 8-10.

2) Give kids "red packets" (chinese will know this is $s) but don't give it to them to buy lollies and toys but save and buy shares. 90% of kids have way too much toys and IT these days.

3) Give your kids responsibilities to buy bread and milk etc from the age of 2

4) Keep records of shares, savings etc and talk to them about your savings and their savings

5) if your in a position to do so, the day they get their first full time job, buy a shitty property and get them in the game

In short, paying attention and paying interest in your kids education and mental well being is more valuable than allowance for lollies and toys.

My dad was underpaid and he paid off the family house before he was 35.

Wasnt sure where to put this

I think it covers the Crime, Politics and General subjects we can discuss so here it is

Not sure its going to stop many accidents - just feels like shifting the burden of the state on to the individual

Family values virtue signalling to dickheads from the mob that thought Trump was a good idea.

Yep

It is always hardest to take that first step/ achievement but the alternative is more painful……..still paying off a house when you’re in your 60s

Is your family from British blood or other?

Explaining compound interest to a two year is ******* stupid.

I guess it all depends on how the concept is being taught.

Ie the maths; or
the concept of the patient take from the impatient; or just a simple
The more patient you are the bigger the reward

Childhood amnesia will render most of it pointless.

This is just training kids to be money obsessed dickheads.

teaching kids patients?

It shows how much easier it was back then.

No one who is underpaid now is paying off a house before they are 35.

not if they have two cars, 2 by insurance, mobile phones all round, internet connection, gambling app, tattoos, eat out multiple times a week, mortgage insurance, house insurance, health insurance, pay tv, car finance, credit cards, avocado, mango etc etc

I bet your parents couldn't afford much else other than raise a family and pay of a home.

Otherwise paying off a $280k - $400k home on 2 by $40k is still achievable. but lifestyle choices including where you choose to live is required.

personally I don't think life has ever been easier for so many

True, not everyone has jobs that allows them to just pack up and move 3 hours away to find these homes.

People make lifestyle choices that they can't afford and then complain they can't afford it. I can guarantee your father made lifestyle choices/ sacrifices that allowed him to pay off a home by 35.

Personally I wouldn't and didn't move 3 hours away. I would move state to a location where you can triple your wages without trying, travel 20 minutes to just about everywhere, have 300 fantastic days of weather and still but a property in the $280k - $400k range within 20 minutes of the city centre.

best of all you could still buy a place in the $280k - $400k range and not move at all (investment property).

but others for a variety of reasons choose other lifestyles. The secret to a healthy wealthy life, is no big secret at all.
