Makes sense as Skipworth has been very resistant to giving newbies any time in the midfieldCan’t say. But let’s see if it ends up being the case

Ok thanks. I may have been thinking of Thomas and Pendles. Not quite. Sidebottom was pick 11 after kicking 10 in the TAC Cup GF.
Beams was a Qld kid taken at pick 29, so very similar to Prindable at 32.
I'd be stoked for that level of onfield success but I'll settle for decent careers! Sidebottom will go down as a club legend after all.

Pendles got glandular fever in his first preseason. He played a handful of games at half forward in his first season. Second year he played the full season on a wing.Did Pendlebury? Or was it the wing in his 1st year?
Bucks did at Brisbane. But he played a few years at Port before that.

Everyone coaching a good team is resistant to that.Makes sense as Skipworth has been very resistant to giving newbies any time in the midfield
The call is also made higher up isn’t it? It was reported Wright wanted to retire veterans and Kelly wanted to maximise premiership opportunities. There was a club belief the window was open and this impacted the whole club. The influence was in list management and game day related decisions. It could also be argued top up players brought in and players developing slowly meant it couldn’t happen.Everyone coaching a good team is resistant to that.
I think you could throw Harvey H in the potentials for midfield minutes. He will take some time after the knee but have high hopes with him.He would find it hard because everyone wants that starting mid position at AFL level. He is behind Daicos x2, DeGoey, Long, Crisp, McCreery, Perryman and even Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Sullivan would be much more likely to get midfield minutes at this stage. Plus he is competing with Prindable, Anderson and Demattia who are on equal footing at the moment.
Breaking into the team as a half back would be easier imo.
Bucks, Also had a Margarey medal as part of his accomplishments and a SANFL premiership.Did Pendlebury? Or was it the wing in his 1st year?
Bucks did at Brisbane. But he played a few years at Port before that.
Or the McMahon and Poulter draft.Swaddles and Prindles could be our 2025 version of the Sidebottom and Beams draft
Wow, that is huge praise. Scott Russell was outstanding from when he came to the club ahead of 1990.Only caught glimpses of Sam, but he reminds me of Scotty Russel. Who was a champion in his first year back in 1990 I think it was.
Hadn't occurred to me, but a pretty fair call JB.Wow, that is huge praise. Scott Russell was outstanding from when he came to the club ahead of 1990.
I actually think that Nick is the best comparison to Scott Russell from his early years, except that Nick is a fair bit better. But in terms of ability all over the ground, super clean skills, solid pace, and accumulation ability, they share some very good characteristics.
