Wendy's hamburgers. Anyone tried them??? are they good? are there any outlets in Australia becuase I haven't seen any? I heard there was back in the 80s. cheers

Saw a documentary of them recently on Foxtel.

I think they are the ones with the square burger rather than circle, anyway there are none in Australia....but they do look tasty.

I can remember them last time around. They had the square pattie and you put the condiments on yourself at a little table kind of like a smorgasboard.

There's a big chain of Wendy's in New Zealand.

I had some last time I was there..but you don't put the stuff on yourself..I had some bacon cheeseburger thing...not bad, not great either...

Is this like the chain in America? Cause if it is, their burgers are great! :thumbsu:

I went to one in New York in January and found the burgers pretty unremarkable to be honest. I didn't find it to be much better than McDonald's, Hungry Jack's etc...didn't even notice the square beef patties

apparantly there were some Wendy's stores around the nation but they lost money and Hungry jack's bought there store and rebranded them as HJ stores

I'm pretty sure I vaguely recall a Wendy's being in Melbourne 23 years ago when I was over there.
Pretty much like your Burger King or Hungry Jacks that are around now.
We never had one in Hobart - we never had anything in Hobart - KFC was about the only "big city" thing here back in those days :o

Also, could be mistaken, but I think I went to one in England as well, only a few years after that.

There's a Wendy's here now in the Cat & Fiddle in the city, on the site of the old Venture store which closed about 12 years back, which is an ice cream parlour.

I had them when I lived in the US. I liked them back then but they have probably changed in 15 years.

Wendy's Supa Sundaes (I think thats what they call it) is a completely different and unrelated company that sells ice cream. they only have a similar name. that may be why Wendy's burgers shut down here in Australia

Wendy's goes alright, but to be perfectly honest America has the art of the burger down pat, and there is nowhere better than a decent pub to try one. Wendy's is okay if you're on the road and you need to pull over somewhere, but when ya can get a fantastic burger for only a couple of dollars more in a pub or restaurant, why bother?

Yeah go the baconator. There are some in New Zealand and expanding why are there none in Australia. Best burgers ever. I think I might get to the point where I fly back to nz to buy one.

Are you serious unhappy with you comment. U must of been highly unlucky and got a bad burger. I'd fly back for a baconator

Had some when I was in New Zealand- not bad but nothing to get overly exicited over. I preferred Denny's (another American chanin) although it was more expensive.

What I really miss is Taco bell?? from Singapore- best tacos, nice flavours.

When I was in Oklahoma City back in October 2007, I was craving an ice-cream badly haha. So, I spotted a Wendy's outlet just outside one of the shopping centres. I seen the name, but didn't see the Girl holding the burger. Anyways, I proceeded to walk in, not noticing the people holding and eating burgers around me. :o :o

I go up to the counter and ask waht kind of ice-creams they sell. The lady stares back at me with the "Not sure if serious" facial expression, and politely says "We don't sell ice-creams here, sir". :o :o

I look up at the menu and see nothing but burgers, and I was shocked. I never knew that Wendy's was a burger only outlet in the States. Luckily a Baskin Robbins was just around the corner.

Isn't Wendy's like for ice cream and milkshakes?

I think they also had hotdogs (they still might). They would pour the tomato and mustard sauce in first and then the hotdog. If you ate more hotdog then bread (is that sexual?) then at the end you'd end up with a big mouthful of cold salty sauce. Horrible stuff....

Similar to Whitecastle burgers?

Wendy's is miles better than McDonalds, Burger King and Hungry Jacks. That's not saying much, but I enjoy a Wendy's burger every now and then when I'm in the States.

No, white castle are little midget things. The Wendy's burgers are normal sized, but square.

Whoever said Taco Bell was good needs his head read. That or more exposure to Mexican food.

Lol Taco Bell isn't food, and it's barely Mexican.

I think they make that Chihuahua puke into some Taco shells and sell it.
