Forgive me for my ignorance, but were we the first club to hand out mini-footballs to our players to distribute to the crowd after a win?
I swear Terry Wallace came up with that idea three years ago.
Now every club does it (Dogs hand out those embarrassing tea towels).
I know it's no big deal, but I swear this was a Richmond initiative that has been copied by 15 other clubs.

I'm pretty sure you're right. I remember thinking what a nice touch it was when we first did it (hadn't seen any other team do it at that point).

We were first Tugga... I remember Billy Brownless joking on SEN one morning about 4 years ago that we wouldn't need to hand out too many footies for that year!

Pretty sure that it was the same year that the "Tiger Towels" were introduced after Plough visited the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL and witnessed their fans waving the "Terrible Towels"

Don't we hand out full-sized footballs? Or has that changed?

Nah mate, we are 4 million debt. Can't be just giving away full size balls!:D

I thought there was one other team possibly Swans that did something similar b4 us as a one gesture a few weeks b4 hand...or was it that it was so long between Tiger wins that Swans happened to have done it a few times in between.

Then slowly the teams jumped on...

They did it back in the 80's, Michael Roach kicked one in my general direction when I was a kid, they were kind of hardish inflatable rubber ones divided into black and yellow quarters, I remember some adult supporter trying to wrestle it out of my hands, but I grabbed it and ran like the wind, probably the most exciting thing to ever happen to me as a Richmond supporter in the mid 80's.
