It's time to return to a simpler time. One where Reardo's bakery sold questionably tasty baked goods, where Noobz' brothel was a 24/7 party, and where people knew what the **** the roles were.
Join me in returning to the town of Flogville, recently rebuilt and with plenty of need for Flogs and Floggy businesses alike.
Basic Rules:
At the beginning of the game each player is given a 'role' at random and in secret by the moderator, via PM. Regular villagers don't receive a PM naturally. Those roles belong to 1 of 4 factions: Villager (good), Mafia (evil), Werewolf (evil) and Serial Killer (independent).
The aim of the villagers is to identify and kill all the werewolves, Mafia and witches before the werewolves can kill enough villagers so that (#of wolves or #of mafia or #of witches = #of villagers). Only one faction (Evil/Good/Independent) can win.
How are players killed?
Each 'turn' of the game will last 24hrs or so and also represents one 'day' of game time, thus a game will go on for several days before it is concluded. There are two 'phases' to every turn of the game;
Night Phase (8:00pm – 11.00am): When the werewolves secretly decide amongst themselves, via PM communication, which villager (one per night) that they shall slaughter and kill and then each inform the moderator of their vote via PM. Votes for the night phase are to be in no later than 9am.
Day Phase (11:00am – 8:00pm): After the slaughter has been announced, everybody, villagers and werewolves alike, discusses and ultimately votes publicly in the game-thread upon which player (one per day) that they shall lynch and kill. Votes for the day phase are to be in no later than 8pm.
Obviously during the day the villagers will want the group to vote for and lynch a werewolf, whilst the werewolves themselves will want not to be lynched; herein lies the fundamental strategy of the game:
Can the villagers identify the werewolves whilst at the same time convincing the rest of the group that they're not themselves a werewolf? And can the werewolves convince the group that they're not wolves at all and thus avoid being lynched?
Werewolf Etiquette:
There are two main rules which everyone must follow in order for the game to run successfully;
KILLED PLAYERS MUST LEAVE THE GAME
If you are killed at any point during the game then you are no longer allowed to participate although I will allow a farewell post, but that post cannot impact the remainder of the game. Anyone breaking this rule will be banned from the next game.
THERE MUST BE NO PRIVATE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN PLAYERS EXCEPT BETWEEN WEREWOLVES and MAFIA
Between non-werewolves and mafia, sending PM's or other forms of private communication concerning the game is not allowed.
Anyone caught sending screen captures of PM's will be instantly modkilled. Any other form of screenshot from the game thread is permitted. Please don't spam with random BigFooty screenshots.
Missing 2 lynch votes in a row or 3 votes in total will see you mod-killed. Missing 2 night actions (if given a role) will see you mod-killed. You may choose to not use a night action but you must state so in your PM. Please note: I will also be running with the 24 hour rule. Each player must post in the thread at least twice in a 24 hour period. Failure to do so will result in the player being mod-killed. However, to be killed the moderator must be tagged into a post by another player, who will be credited with the kill.
Anyone found to be breaking the above rules will be banned from the next game, and repeat offences will result in being banned from all future games should there be any; please follow the rules and keep the game legitimate.
For this game we will not be using the Reason for Lynching rule. Vote for anyone for any reason at anytime during the Day Phase.
Voting:
During the Day Phase players must vote for whom to lynch, your vote must be formatted in bold like this: Player Name.
For this game you may use the No Vote vote option.
Upon the voting deadline (end of day-phase) the votes will be tallied by the moderator and whoever has received the most will be lynched and be out of the game: remember, once killed you cannot take further part; do not reveal your roles to anyone until the game has been concluded.
Any ties in voting will be decided by a coin toss scenario.
ROLES:
Mafia (4):
Godfather - Leader of the Mafia, submits who the Mafia will seer each night. Cannot be killed during the night.
Blackmailer - Dirty man of the Mafia. Each night, chooses 1 player outside of the Mafia and blackmails them to use their lynch vote for the following day phase to how they Mafia choose. If the target fails to vote in line with the Mafia, they will be killed during the next night phase in addition to the mafia’s normal kill.
Goon - Member of the Mafia, discuss who to kill each night, carry out the kill.
When the Godfather dies, the goon will take his place but cannot seer.
Apprentice – This mafia member has no special power other than he cannot be lynched. If the apprentice is the leading vote-getter, the town will be forced to lynch the second highest vote-getter and the last person to vote for the apprentice will be killed as a form of retribution. If the Apprentice is the last remaining member of the Mafia, they get promoted to the Godfather.
Win Condition: When the number of Mafia = the number of villagers when the Vigilantes, Guardian Angel, Werewolves and Serial Killer are all dead.
Werewolves (4):
Alpha Wolf - Leader of the Werewolves, submits who the Werewolves will seer each night. Cannot be killed during the night.
Werecub - Young pup of the Werewolves. When killed, the Werewolves can make one extra kill in the following night phase.
Beta Wolf - Member of the Werewolves, discuss who to kill each night, carry out the kill.
Werewoman – This werewolf member has an ability to be shielded from the prying eyes of others. To seers, the werewoman will appear as a villager. When killed, she will appear as a villager. Not until the wolfpack dies will the village realise the wolves no longer exist. The werewoman is also able to sleep with a member of the village each night which would render their target’s night action invalid. The target nor the village will not be told of the werewoman’s activity – they will have to figure it out for themselves.
Win Condition: When number of Werewolves = to number of villagers when the Vigilantes, Guardian Angel, Mafia and Serial Killer are all dead
Serial Killer - The Serial Killer works alone. Master of destruction, the Serial Killer wants everyone dead. Cannot be killed at night and gets to kill one person each night. No faction can win with the Serial killer alive.
Win Condition: Must reach the final 4 regardless of who is still alive.
Evil Wildcard (1) - One villagers will get 1 of the above roles at random.
The Village (TBD):
The Seer - The seer can learn the role of 1 player each night.
The Jobe - Will be told, and will think, that they are the real seer. Will be fed randomly decided (via random.org) wrong information for each seer.
The Vigilante - Gets to kill 1 player each night.
The Mayor – The mayor's vote will count as 2 for their selected lynch. In the case of a tie, the Mayor decides who will die in their PM. If they mayor is dead, the tie will be decided by a coin toss.
The Guardian Angel – Gets to select and protect one person each night from the chance of death. They may only choose to protect themselves once.
Paranoid Gun Owner - The Paranoid Gun Owners will kill anyone who performs a night action on them. They must nominate when to sleep with their gun. Maximum of 2 bullets.
Wildcard (1) - One villagers will get 1 of the above roles at random.
Villager (TBD) - Everyday people with no special power.
The Amulet - Received at the start of each night phase, this amulet will protect its wearer from lynching and any night actions (including seering). The holder of the amulet must hand it on at the end of the day phase. The person receiving the amulet will not know where they got it from, unless revealed by the poster in the game thread. It may pass once around an evil faction, before being passed out again.
Win Condition: Eliminate the Mafia, Werewolves and Serial Killer.
I will adjust number of roles pending how much interest this game gets.
