hoping eagles trade mckinley+pick50 for pick25 or something around that.
then we can get both Jetta and colyer!

Jetta and Colyer would be great but i'd rather the club made an aggressive bid to lure Yarren from Carlton and offer them Mckinley and Hansen. Would he be worth a second rounder as well as those two? Remember Yarren was a first rounder with a lot of upside and could be the most skillfull of the draft. Only thing is he's unproven and hasn't settled this year. I think he's worth a try and is it considered unethical if a few of his friends in wa enticed him to leave Carlton. I reckon Carlton certainly persuaded Judd but who knows. Thoghts?
My concern with Yarren is that he seems to be very lazy and speaking to people at Swans they agree.

I really dont know much about the draft after the first five...but is there a considerable drop to the next best? As in could pick 6 be on the trade table for a young established gun?

Pick 6 plus seaby might be an offer that Hawthorn may take a serious look at seeing as their is all this talk about them looking for a ruckman. What will they offer in return .. No idea .. Worsfold said or hinted at a small crumbing type forward .. so what do they have that could fill that position and that they would be willing to give up?

would love to see him at wc!

what do u think we'd offer?

would pick38 be good enough

Nope, 38 wouldn't cut it unless he was going to walk out on Norths.

I'd take a straight swap for Rosa!

At least Swallow has a bit of grit and determination about him, kicks a goal most weeks, decent skills and a better work ethic. If Rosa goes that free's up a wing for Houlihan and others.

Cyril. There's no way they'd give him up though, he's far too delicious.

Can't think of any other players that fit the bill. If they want Seaby, offer him plus picks 38 and 54 (which we won't use anyway) for pick 23.

...yet there would be no guarantee Hawthorn would accept that for Cyril.

Daniel Kerr has played about 5 good games in 2 years btw.

As I said, it doesn't matter, they wouldn't be interested in trading him.

The Hawks would never trade away Cyril.

I would trade Pick 6 for Yarran... if Yarran played for any other team than Carlton. We must get him as cheap as possible.

Yarran would complete us.

Pick 6 should be a gun mid or a KPF in this years draft.

Mark Williams???

You guys should not focus on which player we would want.

Rather - which club would really want pick 6.

Carlton and Hawthorn are both looking to top up therefore forget Yarran and Rioli.

The clubs that would be keen to pick up pick 6 are North Melb, Richmond, Fremantle, and Port as well as perhaps Sydney.

You can put a line through Fremantle (we dont trade with them and they dont have a forward of the mould that we want), Sydney (Schneider etc too old), Port (ditto Motlop, Krakour not worth pick 6).

So that leaves North - Lindsay thomas not worth pick though
Richmond - ditto Nahas

So not sure why he specified we would be willing to part with pick 6. I cant think of a forward that would be worth pick 6 at any of those clubs.

The only players I would want would be Rioli or Yarran.

With Chris Yarran I say wait another year then make a very strong play for him.

I also think alot of crap is said about him, no doubt he is homesick but some of the stuff written and said about him is bollocks.

Hawks would be nuts to trade Rioli, and they probaly wouldn't want pick 6 they would rather a Mitch Brown or a Eric McKenzie and there two boys I wouldn't want to give up at all.

So lets keep pick 6 get a Lucas or a Talia or a Duncan.

And then make sure we have right trade for Brandon Matera in 2010.

And try get Yarran next year when out of contract.

I really don't understand all the Rioli love. He is largely a result of Victorian media hype. He had one good game against Adelaide where he kicked 4 goals but in his other games combined he has kicked about 15 goals for the year. He is not a genuine goal sneak IMO. Not that there is anything wrong with that but we don't need to spend pick 6 to get someone like that.

When Woosha says Daicos-like skills it makes me think he is talking about Yarran.

WCE -> Josh Hill and WBD 3rd round pick
FREO -> WCE and WBD 1st round pick
WBD -> Matthew Pavlich

What'dya reckon

This has been brought up by a poster on the Dogs board.

WCE -> Ryan Griffen and WBD 2rd round pick
FREO -> WCE and WBD 1st round pick
WBD -> Matthew Pavlich

Better? :) Personally I think it may be a bit much.

Well, now Fremantle are getting bent over.

I suggest that it would be easier to trade directly with Fremantle, if you're willing to give away Griffen and your first 2 picks.

Not that they'd do it - but it would be fairly close.

I would imagine Freo should do that trade from their perspective. Pavlich might be there if the make finals but if they wanted to fully develop thier list for long term success that would be the best way...

Interesting board guys.

From an outsiders perspective, your first pick for Yarran would be a good gamble given your positional requirements. He still has plenty of time to be a gun. Carlton would be interested too I think.

Difficult but what would you offer for Neville Jetta at Melb - I think you were interested until we got him last year?
