deer park looking very very good.....:D

Good luck to the Lions in being able to land a sugar daddy. Very envious!

I think the Devils will be OK this season. Probably losing 5-6 players from the flag side, but I think with some new recruits, a few kids coming up and a couple of returning players that we will be stronger than 2010.

Still a couple of months until the season starts, so will see what happens. Most teams that come up from div2 are usually weaker the following year in div1 (unless you have $$$ like the new DP), but if things goes as planned then we will be respectable.

I guess it is a bit like the EPL, in that the primary aim is to survive the 1st year and then build. You need blokes (either reserves or seniors) to see the bigger picture and stick fat.

good luck with that.....

the ? is why are teams weaker the following year....maybe div 2 clubs go the wrong way about recruiting older type players who are good/solid div 2 players who will get found out with the bigboys......

thoughts???

I think you should stay on your Divvy 2 thread, and respect Nth Footscray for having the cohuna's to come up:thumbsu: unlike your mob. Let's hope the $$$$$ Deer Park are spending is justified, but trust me when I say there will be some clubs laughing if they don't win it.

Deer Park should really try and foster their own kids to come through rather than offering big coin to current under 18's at other clubs. Oh thats right half of the kids from DP copped huge suspensions for the finals fiasco. And on top of that DP official suing CS Springs? Poor form.
Get it around Under 18's are off limits.:thumbsu:

Agree. He is a class act on and off the field, heard a little whisper though that they have lost one of their better players to the EDFL which is not good news.

It certainly happened to West after we won it a few years ago...
We have struggled ever since. Not this season though :thumbsu:

I was on the 6.34 train this morning taking coco to the annual greyhound festival at fed square and out the corner of my eye I see Micheal (duck) Cassidy running down the road in the same direction as the train, any way I get of the train at flinders st station at 6.58 and the duck is already there, sitting on the front steps of the station, I said to him did you run all the way here and beat the train and the duck said I cheated, I sprinted from north melb station. What a super athlete the duck Cassidy is!

How does people think st albans will go this year

I think they will be right up there this year, have heard some handy recruits will be joining.

Also have noticed on the clearences Spotty have lost their spine, no pun intended - Maghie, Keenen and Mangan, add to that a premiership player Noye. 3 massive loss's.

Can any of the spotty faithful please explain this exodus of talent?

have lost good players the last 3 years, these ones may be a bit harder to cover

should make other clubs a lot happier

Any reason for this STRONGBOW, I have heard some things going on at the club, though will not divulge on a public forum.

Does it just come down to money and the fact it has run out. Or these players just looking for a new challenge:confused:

A true legend of the WRFLUA and a great helper to many clubs - RIP Stan Mielczarek

From WRFL website:

WRFL Umpires, the WRFL Executive and WRFL Administration along with the whole WRFL community are in mourning today with the sudden death of WRFL Umpires Association Hall of Fame / legend and current umpire Stan Mielczarek.

In the 30 years Stan was with the WRFL umpires he raised over $100,000 for the for the WRFL Umpires Association. He was the organiser and trip manager for the end of season trips and looked after the club umpires at Division Two level for many years. Stan very rarely missed a night of training holding his position in the corner of the umpires’ rooms. He was always first to offer advice to the new umpires and anyone wanting some guidance. His relationship with club personnel throughout the league ensured a close connection between the clubs and umpires.

The WRFL Community mourn his passing and pass on condolences to his family.

A massive shock and with enormous pride i hold to have known such a great bloke. Condolences to the family and the League to have lost such a person. Farwell Stan:(

With Spotty losing key players, we might see this again?
