well we will take 20 points off altona too then........

if the league do this then it will encourage teams to compete in the first division take ur medicine if ur not good enough for a year. as a result of altona not going up after winning their first flag the poor nth sunshine fc have not been able to recover from 2 years in succesion from getting belted each week and resulted in an image of a losing culture. if the league dont do something about this issue i can see plenty of other teams doing the same thing as they are happy winning in the lower grade. DEER PARK... dont be the next ALTONA :thumbsd:

its out of my controll ill be happy as long as the club is in good hands and going in the right direction.......wether that is in div 1 or 2........dont cry poor nth sunshine f.c they wanted to stay in div 1 they wernt forced too........

and for the first comment....the comp as it already sits will be more of a basket case if d/p are kicked out 4 not going up.......there should be more financial benefits for div 2 winners to make the process of going up easier.......

The way i read it weapons is, the club(deer park) never intended to be competetive enough to play deep into the finals and accidently won a premiership...

If the club (deer park) was some what organised or had a plan in place if they were to win a premiership then they wouldnt be in this predicament....im not a parkside person but obviously you guys have rueined there plan to be now in A grade.....Which would have been there plan at the start of the 2009...

No club plans to accidently win a premiership....

going on what the president said when he took over the reigns he had a 5 year plan to get the club back into a grade.......this year was the 3rd........and going on info presented to the members at last weeks agm 15 k i think in the kitty wont be near enough to be competitive in div 1........

and parkside would be worse off if they won it and went to div 1.........imo

So if Deer Park don't win a flag in the next 2 years the president should be kicked out of the club and banned for life.

Well he got you there early. I would have thought that was a job well done. So how much are they saying they need to be competitive in 1st div? Surely when you plan to be in 1st div by a certain year, you have also mapped out where the club needs to be financially?? You will probably say yes, they wil have enough money after the 5th year?? If thats the case he was obviously hoping that both the money and winning tha flag coincided with each other so that it was a 'nice' transition up. It doesnt work that way. Winning 1 doesnt give you the right to win another 1 so you should take your chance when you get it. Who knows, you may need to wait another 20 years to play in 1st div.

What would happen if every div 2 club who won the flag didnt have much money to throw around the year after? Do they just say they arent going up bcos they dont have much money? No club would ever go up or down. 15K is still more than what Sunshine Heights spent this year and thats fact, and Im sure that apart from Libba, West wouldnt or shouldnt have spent more than that.

Maybe a bit of Karma for the Deer Park pres. After all wasn't he the won who spent every sent they had when he was coach to win a divvy 1 flag and then walked away to leave the club in dire straights and ultimately where they are now (divvy 2).

thats why he wont make the same mistake twice.......:thumbsu:

New coach at Lavo for 2010 if all the rumours are true...

Without knockin them too bad, with no juniors and what seems to be a rotating door of coaches, the season 2010 might be a tough one for them.... which would be a shame after making finals this year... time will tell i guess...

Rumours are true. I've forgotten his name, but comes from the Essendon District league. Will be a playing coach and i think if we can return the majority of the team from last season and the new coach can bring in some new recruits, could be another season of progress on the field for Laverton.

Wow, loaded question! If i say i think we'd go up, no doubt people would be saying i was off my head as we would get pumped every week and embarrass ourselves, if i say we would take the same path as Deer Park and ask not to go up I'd cop the same as Weapons has been copping on here.

As a player even though I'm probably not good enough to be a regular in Div. 1, I would love the chance to play and have a crack at Div 1 for Lavo just to see how good we could be. I think some of my team mates would be with me on that one, then again some of them probably enjoy being decent players in Div 2, and not really testing themselves.

Although i have very limited knowledge of the bookkeeping aspects of the club or the boards position and i dont know the cost of running a div. 1 club compared to a div 2. club or if there is any difference, i think the aim of the club at the moment is to manage and pay off all debts incurred by previous administrations rather than going to the next level at the present moment, which considering our lack of juniors would mean probably having to pay some money to recruit high level players to get us there and to make us competative. Of course we want to improve onfield as every other club does, but right at the moment i think the long term sustainability of the club is the main aim, any on field success at the moment is a bonus. Also if we went up and were pumped week in week out it would make it hard to attract new players and probably hard to keep any quality players we already have.

So after a long post, I have hardly answered your question. If it were up to me I would say we would love to go up and have a crack, but at the end of the day we are in a worse financial position than Deer Park are at the moment i would think and it would be difficult for us to compete in Div.1, though ask me this time next year after we've won the flag and i'll be all for going up!!:thumbsu:

His name is Justin Moran, i believe he has been a playing assistant coach with Airport West. Dont know too much about him though.

On another point the club will be starting a auskick progam in 2010 i believe that they are taking over seabrook auskick which will be the first step in restarting the junior program at laverton.

Justin was a former team mate of mine from Port Melbourne.
He played at St.Albans has coached in souther league, i'm sure he will be a great asset for Laverton.

Re: Relegation / Promotion
Believe it should be up to the clubs involved. If West Footscray wanted to go down, Deer Park MUST go up. If Deer Park wanted to go up, West Footscray MUST go down. If West wanted to stay up, the decision remains with the Div 2 premiers. Rather simple, really.
Deer Park not ready yet with no U18s so if it takes them another 5 years, so be it. At least then, they will be ready.
In relation to the GF - Parkside got found out with too many "Div 2 players", Juegan the exception. Davis only there for himself, Krueger not fit enough, Muratore tagged out of it, Sir only got a kick when loose in the middle, Taleb ok but needed to do more.

Just for fun - final 5 for 2010 (alphabetical oder):
Deer Park
North Footscray
Parkside
Wyndhamvale
Yarraville / Seddon

Bit harsh on Dallas Harvey

Hes taken the club from cellar dwellers to finalists in two years. Will be a big loss if he and his brother arent around the club next year.

Then again i dont know much about this Moran bloke either, hope it all works out.

Bowout, you must be a Wyndamvale fan having them jump from 9th this year to 4th in 2010.... Don't think so ?

Can't see Albanvale missing the 5, have not missed finals for a decade and have heard they have already recruited about 12 new blokes, a heap of blokes from Tullamarine that have come down with the new coach.

My early top 5 in no order

Albanvale
Parkside
North footscray
Deer park
Yarra / coburg

Justin Played recntly at Aberfieldie (when i was there brifely pre season). and last year Coached in the Southern LeagueJustin will be a great Asset to the Lavo football club but think his football days are well and truely behind him as he spent the whole season the the reserves when at Aberfieldie in 2007.

Nice guy very good fitness professional and will be a major asset for Lavo but he is not going to set the world on fire on field.

Rumours i am hearing are Kennedy and Zarraffa may be moving on. My early prediction would be Lavo to be a slider in 2010.

I am also hearing Parkside and Albanvale have some serious cash flow issues and there may be a few players leaving these clubs in 2010.

Not much is happening down Yarra way coach re apointed and have not lost any1 that i know off and have not yet picked up any1 either but with a young team and a new team expect to finihs top 4 next year.

Not sure you are hearing right Cain,

Parkside have re signed every player bar 2 from this season & Albanvale have signed about 12 new guys already for next year...

Doesn't sound like there are to many cash flow problems there ?

Yarra better start recruiting or they may be left behind

just what i have heard around the Traps if its true or not i dont know. Spoke to Patty a few weeks ago and he said Parkside have not lost to many and i expect them to be hard to beat again.

Albanvale 12 players! Wow thats a lot any names i think its a bit early to go around saying stuff like that. Yarra will need to recruit a few to stay in touch with the top 5 no doubt.

firstly you expect to finish top 4......then the next post you need to recruit a few to stay in touch with the top 5.........is it me or do you still have no trams and trains.....(brains)just for you.....???

In saying every player bar 2 of course, has resigned, does this mean all those players have signed a monetary contract ?

This would not surprise me. I support Tulla in the EDFL and i know there coach has been stealing alot of our players. I got told the other day that there are 7 or 8 that have signed at Albanvale. One Shane Barry has gone as a playing assistant coach, there new coach used to play and coach at Tulla and has basically tried to rape us!! Wouldn't want to show his face around his old club !!

Surely there has to be a rule to stop so many players leaving to go to another club, anyone have any idea's.

It would be great for the league to turn around and say this isnt allowed and that its capped. That would stick it up his ar#e:eek:
