So Bob the builders division 3 might be compromised with the exit of a Division 1 club next year!
Who is playing Port Colts in a practice match? because you wont be playing them during the H&A next year!
Don't get on here throwing out your Line Table Tennis !!! Where do you think they are going ? Elaborate. On another matter heard a young Werribee player carted off in an ambulance with a neck injury down at Spotty on the weekend. Hope he is faring ok ? Was it serious ???

Serious enough for them not to move him for a long time. He laid a tackle and it looked like the bloke fell on him in the tackle. Haven't heard anything since. He was having a cracker of a third quarter when Werribee had some momentum.Don't get on here throwing out your Line Table Tennis !!! Where do you think they are going ? Elaborate. reports after the game was that he was ok,
10 goals up at half time. 7 goals in the end. Werribee made up a massive 3 goals. Werribee are a quality side and weren't going to be absolutely blown off the park with a 100 point loss. I saw enough to suggest that the battle for runners up is wide open. That's good news. Decent win considering the result earlier in the year but Spotty blew a big lead Strongbow ?

Coached well enough to be competitive but would need 6 or 7 ready made div one or better players to come in.Parkside open to the idea of promotion this time around - http://bit.ly/VeXKpR

Problem is GoesBangFrom50 Its all across Melbourne just not our league. Spoke to a good mate that's involved at Mitcham f.c that are in div 3 of the EFL and there player budget is more than a couple of teams in divvy 1 WRFL.Anyone from Colts on here able to add anything to this?
No idea if this has any truth to it but if it is true I am not surprised. I am sure that there are many clubs looking very seriously at where they are, where the WRFL is headed and what the best fit is to ensure their own survival.
Player Payments in the WRFL have exploded in the past 3 - 4 years (was steadily growing prior to that). Deer Park has lead the charge but many other clubs have jumped on board and followed their lead.
The WRFL has embraced this culture and accepted it as a positive for our competition (more money, better players, higher standard) so it will be interesting to see what they do if this then leads to 1 or more clubs folding or leaving the comp which would put 5 years of planning (to get to 3 divisions) in the toilet!!!!
* I should add that "more money, better players, higher standard" is generally what a most people think and not my view..... it is actually closer to "more money , average players getting over paid".

a more worrying issue is the lack of effort of some clubs in regards to juniors.
how is your clubs juniors going????
and there you have it, the juniors as the money maker is a big problem. Have seen juniors at a few clubs training with badly shaped balls and then struggling to adapt to good balls on match day. All the while, senior rockstars get the best the club can offer. Have seen some clubs look after the juniors well though. We are doing the best we can in the area we are in..... but would love to have more juniors. 2 years ago we had no juniors or Auskick. We now have 2 junior sides and a auskick. .
I agree that there is an issue with juniors but that issue is clubs using their juniors as a "money maker" to prop up their seniors
Didnt see any of that.A very undisciplined performance by Werribee Districts yesterday. The antics of numbers 8 & 11 especially were a disgrace, and worse, the umpires just watched.
Didnt see any of that.
As for the game, some thought that Werribee would smash Spotty on the wide open spaces of Chirnside/Avalon. Werribee's third quarter was massive. Have to hand it to them there. The last quarter was a nightmare for them. They'll bounce back next week and beat Hoppers.
A few attempted one liners from the Werribee crowd but they need to get better. Too many years in the Amo's mixing with the Chardonnay set? Come on you lot, fire up! I suggest you do a preseason of learning from the Port Colts crowd and learnt to be more savage. Telling one of the Spotty boys that he needs a girdle just didnt cut it.![]()
