In what was possibly the greatest break in pool history, I once sunk two bigs, two smalls, and the black.


The 'foul on the black and you lose' rule is supposed to only apply when the black is the only ball remaining on the table.

Grew up playing on a mates table where we ruled that if you potted the black off the break it was an instant win (something so rare cant be penalised, surely!?) . I've seen it happen 3 times including doing it once myself.

Essentially, good players can bounce off the far cushion and dodge obstacles easily enough.

Happens often enough.

Usually a coloured ball bouncing off the cushion and knocking it in. I've always played instant win if you sink the black off the break.
