Kingdom Come Deliverance - just started. First impression are quite solid, but the controls are outrageous, haha.

The first one? It's a real diamond in the rough after a long and uncertain time in development but it laid the groundwork for the sequel which is a masterpiece. Director and studio co-founder is a mad black metal fan too haha. Google Daniel Vavra and you can find him wearing Bathory, Burzum and Enslaved shirts.

Yup the first one. I downloaded the HD texture pack and got the the graphics cranked up to ultra high running on 120fps and it looks amazing too. How hard does the combat get? :D Good bit of trivia him being a metal fan as well!

Even when you get some good skills and have good armour combat can be tough. That's by design. One on one you'll eventually be able to smash anyone, then one v two you'll have to just be strategic, but by design being significantly outnumbered is meant to be hard to sometimes impossible so you'll have to plan those encounters by stealth take downs or cheeky hit and runs. It has been so long since I've played the first one so I can't remember how or when you can get it, but Master Strike in KCD1 is pretty broken and will destroy anyone.

There are other neat touches too like it can be better off using a mace against heavily armoured enemies/enemies with helmets. Try for strikes straight down on top of their head to stun them. Also in the first game you can poke with sharp weapons (from memory it's just right click if you're using a mouse) which for some reason is missing from the sequel. You can whittle tough enemies down by constantly poking them.

Yeah I had a brief look on Steam forums and they all said the same thing about Master Strike. Guess I'll look into it - as well as a tutorial vid to make sure I'm not going to struggle too much. :drunk:

Arc Raiders, not normally my cup of tea but if you run around and be nice to people they put you in non aggressive lobbies and you can mainly just kill robots. Graphics / sounds are great and clicked pretty quick. I am a sucker for an apocalyptic world in computer games.

Been too tired after work to dive back into Clair Obscur (though I know I'll have to before I forget how to do anything or anything that's happened in the story), so I've been playing the Heretic + Hexen bundle for some mindless fun. Have finished Heretic once in the past before the big update (using GZDoom so it still felt "modern"), tried Hexen straight afterwards and bounced off hard. Unsure if I'll attempt Hexen again but hopefully the quality of life improvements helps with the convoluted levels. I liked how the Quake 2 update added a navigation button.

Finished Lego Horizon. It's pretty weak compared to the other Lego games. Was a grind in the end to get all characters maxed out (only 4 of them) to get the platinum. You can cheat a bit using 2 controllers to level up 2 characters at a time, but it's still tedious.

Big month or 2 coming up - Yakuza Kiwami 3, Battlefield 6 Season 2, Crimson Desert.

Been getting back into it recently with the Advance Wars 1+2 remake.
Its still one of Nintendo's finest. I still prefer the spritework of the GBA originals. I like Fire Emblem for the RPG mechanics but as a strategy game it runs rings around it.

They dropped the ball not implementing proper online multiplayer, like most Nintendo games. I think with the Ukraine war delay made them just want to forget the game existed

RDR2

Made a mess of robbing the O'Driscoll's in the back of the drug store. Ended up having to kill a stack of lawmen and raise a near $300 bounty on my head for the 2nd time. Spent all of my cash and had good ol' Dutch smooth talk his way into getting me out of prison.

I still haven't done a hell of a lot of the story missions as I get sidetracked all the time. Am about 27% completion so far just from drifting around and seeing what's on offer. Great game.

I gave up on Control pretty quickly. By the time I got to the person I was trying to find I was just over it.

Since I've been playing some RDR1 ps5 version

A little bit of NFS Unbound and Ace Combat 7

Lots of marvel rivals but also really getting into Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth. I tried starting rom the beginning of the serries a little while ago but it wasn't for me. Maybe I'll go back and try again after I'm done with this.

Yeah I'm still on this too.

Getting ready for the 2nd expedition atm. Between that and trying to get decent Trials scores it's keeping me pretty busy. Plus the odd pvp games when mates are online. Lots still to do.

Yeah Ive tried Control and just cant get into it. The controls (no pun intended) are solid and tight but its just a bit meh.

Yeh, ive been on it flat out for the last couple of days. Ive never fired a shot at another player but ive been shot in the back plenty of times.

Arc Raiders: an online shooter where you're supposed to be friendly to people and kill bots?

Haha, Its a PvPvE game, it all depends on your play style, once I get decent gear i'll enjoy the PvP more.

You get smashed early but soon you get powder puff lobbies so can get all your stuff easy once you learn how to handle Arcs

You just need more time.

I've been playing Sword Of The Sea.

Any "proper" gamer would probably find this a boring waste of time, which is maybe why it suits me. You might call it closer to a meditative experience than a typical game. Came with PS Plus.

You ride a hover-sword around a vast desert space and "restore" it to its ocean state with life. It isn't overly complicated and it is forgiving to the point if hand holding with the jumps etc, but it's a relaxing and chill time. Sound, visuals and haptics are on point. I've had fun with it.
