It's new - set in 1900 New York, at a hospital where Clive Owen is a coked-up chief bigwig surgeon and they are all revolutionary and shit in experimental and new fancypants medical stuff. The 2IC is black and the other docs don't want him there, and he secretly runs a basement clinic for black patients because he can't treat them in the main hospital.

I hate violence too ladies but SOA is a great show, as was Breaking Bad.

I struggled through season 1 of BB but it was worth the persistence, trust me. You won't regret it!
