I like playing 2 dayers, basically coz i don't bat too well under the pressure of having to keep the runs ticking along. I like to play my own game, and wait for the bad ball. I tend to get bogged down and anxious if i do not score a run for a few balls in a one day game.

Also there are no bowling restrictions, so fitness permitting, i get to bowl more too :D

2 day cricket is much more suited to my bowling as the batsmen don't necessarily try and smash me every ball.

One day is good though as it is over quicker and when you have a bad game you get to the pub quicker. If you have a bad 2 day game you can be standing in the field for a long long time.

Definitely 2 day games.

Far more enjoyable to be able to pace an innings, play genuine shots, and basically play the game as it was meant to be played.

No contest...2 day games for me.

I get to bat in my normal positiion (4 or 5), and I usually get to bowl a decent spell.

I haven't bowled at all in our one dayers, and have only
batted once (we were bowled out for 70). For some reason our
genius of a captain likes to bat the "big hitters" up the order
and bat our normal 3/4/5 batsmen at 9/10/11....WTF!

Little wonder we are last with only 1 win.

One day games.

I play D grade which is just an opportunity for most blokes to get ****ed while having a hit. Most of our games don't even last a full day's play. Last saturday we got bowled out for 48 chasing 65. We could have had a second innings but the guys thought it would be a better idea to head to the pub and lay a few bets while throwing back a few pots.

Okay, this is off topic, but may I ask some of ya, how do you join and play for a club? Do ya just walk into a club and ask if you can play for them and see if they'd accept ya?

Just go and ask at your local club.

What if you ain't much of a player, would ya get a go in the teams?

Yep..as i said in my other post i play d grade and we are all sh1t. We spend most of the day on the p1ss. Go out and have a swing hit a boundry, get bowled. Walk back to your car and grab another VB:D

A couple of my teamates refuse to be promoted as they would have to actaully try hard and stop drinking in a higher grade.

LOL, typical Australians :) Can't believe a fellow Bomber supporters' a drunk, but then again, Sheeds might have something to do with it

As an opening bowler, I like the one-day game... but I find that I'm quite capable of taking wickets in either form ;)

Had a couple of year-end four-dayers against rival Pulteney Grammar (boooooo), which were very enjoyable. I definitely prefer the pace of the game to that of 2-dayers. Hopefully I'll be a regular 4-day player some day...

I blame sheeds for everything. Maybe i do drink to much. Might explain why i haven't made it into double figures for 2 years. Which wouldnt be so bad for a tailender but i bat at number 4!:D
