Not much point having a clash jumper which is essentially the same as the ordinary jumper. The commercial reality is that if the AFL ordains that Collingwood, or any club for that matter, adopt a "clash" or "away" strip, even one that is prediminently a non black or white "colour (are black or white colours ?) like St Kilda's essentially yellow clash strip, it won't matter what the President says, the team will wear the new jumper. Having said that, if Collingwood doesn't want to wear any jumper but the black and white verticle stripes, then why should it ? This business about clashing colours etc is wildly over rated

If however we chose to have a clash strip in order to shut up the whingers who have no stake in the matter other than they have one so we should then black stripes on white as an alternate to white stripes on black should be the answer. Nothing else. If we need to set up a fund to fight it in court I'll make the first donation and be at the AGM making all the noise I can.

Very, very true. I mean, the AFL wouldn't suggest that Carlton not wear the Navy Blue because it clashes with Adelaide or something (unless Carlton wanted to switch to Baby Blue to sell M&M's of course).

I don't remember Essendon ever not wearing the Red Sash on their guernsey because of some reported "clash", so why should we have to change? Our jumper doesn't clash with anyone now in the days of colour T.V and commentary. And if you're at the ground and can't tell the difference, you wasted your money paying to get in.

The fact is, Black and White stripes IS Collingwood. I was amazed at myself the other day when I was at the Aquarium with my niece, and there was this little fish, it looked sort of like a Clownfish, but where they're orange, this one was black, and I thought to myself "Cool, a Collingwood fish". Now, that's pretty insane, but any time I see anything with Black and White stripes, the first thing I assume is that it's tied to Collingwood somehow, even if it's a fish. It's just part of the culture of footy, and I don't see how it could be considered to change that. I highly doubt Carlton supporters think that every time they see something blue, or Hawthorn think that every time they see human excrement

We need to keep the stripes as a matter of history.

The 1990 premiership design. (basically the current jumper inverted) three black stripes down the front leaving alot of white at the sides. Black numbers on a white background will resolve problems against Carlton St. Kilda Essendon, and now that they have also gone back to white numbers, Richmond.

I don't like the current away strip with that magpie on it. It should purely be a training jumper IMO.

I would think a nice deep red would do nicely if we have to part with the black and white. Something close to the Emirates colours perhaps......

BTW, I don't see why we have to wear black and white every match. I actually like the fact that Liverpool play in red, white and yellow. Gives me something to wear that doesn't clash!

I hate it when they start bringing up the big soccer clubs like manchester united. My reply is if it's good enough for manchester united to be unrestricted in player payments then it's good enough for collingwood. I bet then they don't want to bring that case up again.
