If there is going to be another AFL game made, here are some things I would like to see it have.

1) The same controls as "AFL Live 1" made by Big Ant- The controls on AFL 2 are too hard. So go back to the AFL 1 control scheme.

2) Auto-save between quarters- The other day I was playing the game and it froze on me. Now, it was halftime, and I was playing season, so I had to replay the game to progress.

Why not have an autosave feature, where it saves your progress every quarter? That way, if your game freezes or the power goes off, you just have to replay one quarter, instead of an entire match.

3) The ability to edit playing positions and appearances of in-game players in "Footy Factory".

What if a player plays a new position, but on the game they have a low rating for that new position, or they have grown a beard since (I'm looking at you, Jimmy Bartel) or have changed their name (Harry O'Brien to Heritier Lumumba)? The current games don't allow you to edit in-game players, but merely tinker with how strong they are in each position.

I want to be able to make the game as realistic as possible, and if a former forward is now used up back all the time, I want the game to allow me to do this, and offer me this player as one of the options for that position.

4) No sub, and therefore no sub glitch- Both AFL 1 and 2 suffered the "sub glitch" where your game froze when you put a sub on the ground.

Now that there are no more subs, then any new game can simply put a fourth person on the bench, and they can come on and off like the others.

5) Have the country leagues, TAC, VFL and other leagues, like AFL 2 did, but with AFL 1 controls, so that I can actually play it.

6) Career Mode- One of the big things lacking with both AFL 1 and 2 is a career mode. This is where you take one team or a number of teams through a season, and it throws up different scenarios, such as re-signing new players, players ask to be traded, injuries, training etc. Let it go on for multiple seasons, and build a club and hopefully a dynasty.

There could be four different career options:- player, coach, president and team.

player- play career as a player, and deal with injuries, contract negotiations, whether to stay at your club or leave, improving your skills on the training track. It can be used as a custom player or in-game player.

coach- select a team for each game, take training, do a press conference, meet sponsors etc.

president- raise finance for the club, hire a coach, medical staff, recruiters etc.

team- do team training, play games, try to win enough games to make finals etc.

7) Mutiple fixtures or randomly generated fixtures for "Custom Seasons". Also, allow the game to decide how many rounds you want, and other criteria. The game can then randomly generate a fixture.

8) More hair styles, faces, and other options in "Footy Factory". Also, you should be able to download or upload other people's creations online. So, if you find a new player whose model online looks exactly like him, you can download it.

9) Years where the game isn't being made, DLC to update each season's roster, fixture and venues.

10) Legend mode. This could be where you can play an "old-style" footballer, under old rules (positional play). You can even unlock VFL/AFL Legends by doing different tasks, and use them in the game (to make a custom team etc).

11) A DLC download to allow a Women's League, and you can have female teams.

More players around the ball and more pressing and flooding. Its just doesn't feel right when the full forward doesn't leave the 50. When its a kick in but 3 players are in the other 50.

More tactic options like spare man in defence, having a player run in from the back of the square. Having a high half forward push up to the stoppage or the the wing and having a wing play as the sweep across the stoppage. Having a designated third man up. Or having a certain player drop off his man. More unique forward set ups like having all players in a straight line or having a box setup.

Having more realistic aerial and ground level contests. So when a key foward hits the pack hard player go down with it and spoiling needs to look more realistic as well. Or when two player fight for the ball on the ground the contest is more realistic than just one player getting it and the other player not.

Having better evasion options and situation so its not always a tackle fest. Eg. player 1 steps player b but player b doesn't fall over and can still chase. Players will be able to dummy, side step blind turn, palm and use other evasion tactics. Will make it easier for a small forward to kick freak goals.

Not having the chaser always faster then the player with the ball so a ruckman is unlikely to run down anyone with pace. Players can burst out of stoppages easier, and half backs will be able to rebound easier.

Be able to make set rotation so you don't have a ruckman on the wing or playing as a rover or don't have a foward pocket playing at half back. Half forward rotate through the middle more so they can automatically rotate their and midfielders can automatically rest their without having to do it yourself.Samewith match up options so you don't get a miss match.
