"The year is 1925 and the VFL are looking to expand their competition. They extend an invitaion to the then Brunswick Magpies with an exeption. They are to be named Brunswick FC and add a yoke to their existing jumpers to differentiate from Collingwoods. They accept the offer and play the next 25 seasons with a yoke over their retained stripes.

After being fed up with a covered up jumper, in 1949 that they reached out to Western Australian side Swan Districts for an alternate jumper to the current covering up of their stripes. The Swans sent over their jersey and the Brunswick board liked the idea and altered it so as not to copy them and stay unique beside Collingwood. They kept 2 thin stripes on one side, removing the other 2 and having an all black back.

The year prior to this change, The Italian immigrants in the area founded a Soccer club called Brunswick Juventus a.k.a The Zebras, they then caught the attention of Brunswick FC and proposed an identity link. They couldnt be called the Magpies (Collingwood) or Zebras (affiliation with Juventus) so to meet in the middle they proposed a rename to "Brunswick Bianconeri FC". The VFL declined the request and given there were 2 Brunswick Clubs, they would trade as "Brunswick Australian Football Club" and the Bianconeri nickname would be used by the supporters. "Zebras" would also be used as a nickname in later years.

They would retain the 2 thin stripe design for years to come and add accents of Red from their VFA days. After years of being in between manufacturers (Sekem, Kombat, ISC, Kooga, BLK) in 2016, Juventus FC gave the club a boost by aiding their manufacturer change to Adidas."

"In 1924 the VFL had 6 candidates from the VFA for its own expansion. These teams were Brunswick, Footscray, Hawthorn, North Melbourne, Port Melbourne and Prahran. It was decided that for the 1925 season Brunswick, Footscray and Hawthorn would join the league, as the area just north of Melbourne seemed too unnecessary for expansion. Hawthorn and Footscray's unique colour sets of Brown and Gold, and Red, White and Blue respectively were unique enough for the league however Brunswick had recently changed their red and black jumpers to black and white stripes, exactly like Collingwood, and their moniker of "The Magpies" was hardly unique enough either. The name Zebras comes from a small group of fans who wrote to the club saying that "Our club has been fortunate enough to be admitted into the VFL and it is only fair that we must not call ourselves the Magpies. Fortunately my friends and family have been calling this club as the Zebras for years!" And so Brunswick was now known as the Zebras. For the jumper Brunswick took a leaf out of Perth Football Club's book Brunswick went for writing that said BFC on a black jumper with red trimmings. This look was unique in the VFL however it only lasted a few years as somewhere down the track Brunswick decided to change to charcoal and red stripes. It is shown below how it was displayed in 1977 with league and sponsor logos. The mid 90's came and without North Melbourne's GOAT design there was one vacancy for an outlandish preseason design and Brunswick filled this vacancy by having their own diamond jumper for two seasons. Someone really must have liked diamonds! For the 2018 season Brunswick continued their run with a gradient jumper that had been worn since 2013. Brunswick have been seen as either the pioneers or progressive freaks when it comes to jumper designs but one thing's for sure, you can count on Brunswick to look unique each year (except against Essendon :D)"

"In my version Brunswick goes back to their other original colour, before they joined the VFA, which was Light Blue.
Adding that to the Black, they would probably wear something like Barrybran 's idea of a single band.
So 1925 Black with Sky Blue band, collar and cuffs. I'd be thinking it would be fairly wide, like Sturt were using at the time
In the 1930s, with Australia working their way out of the Great Depression, and with innovation in machinery and dyes, Brunswick joins Hawthorn & StKilda in lightening their colours, and flipping Sky and Black.
Sky Blue with Black band, Collar & Cuffs.
1950 they adopt the nickname the Bulls, mostly for the alliteration.
In the 1970s, with acrylic fabric and knitting technology again developing, the band was dropped for a two coloured yoke, in the same design Eastern Suburbs are still known for. This re-introduces White to the palette.
Sky Blue, Black Yoke, White Vee, White Collar & Cuffs.
By the early 2000s and sublimated printed template and jumpers, they get 'experimental' and find ways of incorporating gradients into their jumpers. A former manufacturer's template incorporated sides into the jumper, and these were made into gradients."

"Brunswick FC were admitted in the VFL in 1925 it was then they went back to the light blue they had used in the past and adopted a 'braces' design with black outline. In 1975, with the advent of colour TV the blue 'braces' were expanded into panels making it a tri panels design and blue shorts were worn for away games. In 1982, in an effort to move to black and white, the blue panels were made black and now the only blue on the guernsey is a bead in each arm cuff. By 2018 all the blue had been dropped completely white side panels added along with the zebra logo on the chest.

Thanks to Google Images for the zebra logo as well :)"
