Played quite well for a year and a half, but is declining. Would be wierd having both Murphy and Camporeale in the red and black at the same time, from what i've read elsewhere, if that ever happened, we'd be losing more fans as we speak
after the absolute gutless performances he put in against sydney and hawthorn late this season which were funnily enough his last 2 games for the season, I would be disgusted.
those 2 games, showed no bloody deperation or heart and was detrimental to the side and a pathetic example to the young players and the rest of the guys busting their gut out their.

The only reason sheedy would do this is because he must believe that murphy would help get a premiership next year or something. He always thinks we need to fill gaps to win a flag(i.e camporeale) He seems desparate to get a flag as soon as possible. He better pull his head in, he refused to play the younger players in the early part of the season and then was forced to give them consecutive games as a result of injuries, and behold our famous "4th qtr fadeouts dissapeared" and we were more competitive overall. Some of our senior players were just playing terrible and undisciplined football and he refused to drop them. He needs to show faith in the younger players and give them a go, rather than playing murphy who will take up space on the bench or even worse on the field.
I hate the idea of either Campo, Heff or Murphy staying.
They'd take game time away from our young midfielders, who are looking very promising.
Whereas I'd actually quite like Lappin, but then thats because I think Lovett will play more wing/HFF, and we'll still need a top goal sneak.

Murphy earnt his spot on the list in 2005.

I want to win a premiership as soon as possible as well. I'd have to seriously question any coach who didn't.
Sheedy has always played his best available 20, with usually only 2 players left over for a bit of experimentation. Whats the point of playing younger players if they aren't up to it ?
We are not Hawthorn and nor do I want us to be.
I've really had enough of this Murphy bashing. He's an easy target pure and simple. Sure he had a bad second half of the season but he wasn't on his Pat Malone there. It didn't help either that his confidence was gradually getting shattered by our so called 'supporters'. Murphy, is if nothing else, a confidence player.
He plays outside but so what. Every team needs one. We can't have a midfield full of Jason Johnsons. He gets a lot of the ball and uses it well.
Every team needs at least one outside player in their side.
Youth is not always the answer. In fact I could present facts that say that it isn't the answer a lot of the time.
Sydney won a flag this year with experienced players. Brisbane's great side between 2001 and 2003 was made up of players predominantly in the 24-30 age bracket. Ditto Port Adelaide 2004.
Lets get our squad made up of the best available (potential included) 38 players.
There is no point delisting him only to draft some kid at pick 51 who will never play a game.

Im sick of this easy target defence, Murphy is being targeted because of his performance. And any other player would recieve the same treatment. I also want essendon to win a premiership as soon as possible. Sheedy wants to do it before his time is up and we know that is not far away. Our Current team is not going to win a premiership, but sheedy thinks that keeping the older players and topping up might do it for him. Thats not gonna happen!
I just believe that you have to give the younger players a chance to develop especially in a side that is performing they way essendon have. I believe we improved a lot when the younger players where getting consecutive games, and were competitive in games we would have been if it wasnt for the younger players i.e west coast, geelong and brisbane.
As much as love solomon I thought he should have been dropped for one game at least, and how many games did bolton play this year? Sheedy wont drop them coz he believes it will keep us close to the mark. But we have been on a steady decline since 2001.
But having said all that lets hope the bombers do it for Jimmy in 2006!

If he stays and plays well then great, but something happened to him in the latter part of last season whether it was mental or physical that he'd want to correct.
He's proven he has the ability to make us a better side, and i've got a soft spot for him, though i suspect his time might be up. I'd prefer the younger blokes in the 22 as well. But now I also suspect he will stay as i take this as a hint from you Longy.

I cant belive i am going to say this as Murphy annoyed me most of the year but a very very very small part of me hopes he stays and plays well again
