What should we be expecting?

I am now convinced that you are on the RFC payroll..! 7 years and all you have is compromised drafts.?
did we make use of free agency.? didwe develop the players we have.? does our coach have a plan b or c on game day..?

if you saw the game yest you'd see how far behind this club is compared to crows, dogs, saints and even carlton........we barely beat them.
even bombers looked better than us..can you say with confidence we will beat them.?
When did I say that was the only reason?
What does every keep saying? Richmond just need that 1 more elite player to take them to the next level. Well we would have got at least 1 of those in the drafts if they weren't comprised.

Yes we used free agency. Yes we developed players. Depends on the day.

Because I, unlike you have watched the Football before. We did this last year and the year before and the year before.
We looked shit when players were out injured, and then when they came back we were one of the best in the league.

The people who made such a rash, quick decision to relive themselves of pressure: the board
Lmao. I ****ing love people like you talking shit like this. Bud, you have no clue.
Rash decision. Sure, sure. I'm sure they spend the whole off-season doing nothing and then the last week they were like "Hey, should we re-sign Hardwick?".
They would have been talking for the whole off season to decide what the plan was this year and ahead.

The coach is ultimately responsible a all times for how his team performs on the field so that would be now. Lets be straight here, i am no supporter of hardwick but the knee jerk reactions to sack him a few weeks into a season and just a handful of weeks after his contract was extended is ludicrous. Not going to happen while the board that voted for it exist.

Totally get what you are saying and find it pretty hard to argue.

The reason I ask is because I am always fascinated by the rationale that you shouldn't replace a coach because he can't go out and enforce his instructions, or that there are many other people involved, so he's not solely to blame.

You take that to the nth degree and every coach has a job for life. When do you draw the line and actually hold them accountable for their role as head coach. Interesting topic I reckon.

I will say this, if you believe your coach is not the right one for your club, you should replace them immediately, regardless of the cost. The damage they can so in the pursuit of their own ends can be catastrophic.

That the board has recently extended his contract would suggest that they believe he is the right man for the job and we're stuck with him.

While this may still please many, for me it is a sobering reality that has me quite dejected. I have no faith in him being able to do more than get the best out of some less talented players, while confusing and restricting the more talented types in the process.

I've been wrong before and hope to be this time, but I feel Hardwick is a limited football intellect, a follower of trends and not an innovator. As such, he will never progress us beyond the middle tier. Sigh.

One poster I think wrote Dimma said we will still make the 8.

Why is that relevant?

I thought we are supposed to be working towards winning premierships!!!

Premierships have never been part of his KPIs

I never thought we were projecting towards winning a premiership.

If they go hard in the draft and chase Hurley and Heppell I might change my mind!

I couldn't care less if we made the eight or not, its not a KPI of mine!!!
