What sort of backman would you rather

Mate and I were having a chat about the sort of backmane currently in the AFL. He raised an interesting pint, what would you rather:

A floater across halfback who gets 15 odd possies, but his man gets 12 and kicks 2 or 3

A more dour backman who gets only 3-4 touches a game, but his man also gets no more than half a dozen

Is anyone else thinking of the swimming pool scene from Animal House?

"FLOAATERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!" :D

As for the defender, I'd prefer a dour one.

:D

I initially misread the question and thought you were talking about Dowler and another draftee called 'Floater' who I hadn't heard about.

On a second glance it appears that "dour" is the word you were after.

Frankly, I'd rather the dual-faceted model who can shut down an opposing tall under duress, but is also capable of providing plenty of run impetus the other way.

If pushed, however, I'd opt for the dour model.

I rate Dower backmen more, however you can't have the entire back half made up off them, obviously the team needs to be able to conter attack of the back half.
