I dont know about you lot but tucker time in my household is a pretty big deal. Two teenage kids both me and the Mrs work full time so Dinner for us is pretty special - that and I love to cook and if I left it to the Mrs we would all be malnourished.
So for this thread (since we have numerous others on resturants, what's happening on the day etc) we could have one on what we ate last night and if it was grouse, shithouse or ho hum. Plus which if you were truly impressed maybe share the recipe.

Ok- tonight I had Dinosaur Bones.

Rib eye fillet steaks with the bone about an inch and a half thick.

Step 1 - Brown both sides on the BBQ plate or fry pan.
Step 2 - Put the steaks onto the top rack of the BBQ (close the lid) or on a rack in the oven and cook for about 30-40 minutes at 180-200 deg.
Step 3 - have with a fresh garden salad and home made potato wedges with the sauce or accompaniement of your choice or steam vegies.

This is serious steak eating and not for the faint hearted. I personally like a sambal olek or hot chilli paste that i can dip each mouthfull of steak into.

What about you?

Potato and onion curry with mustard seeds. And a mixed vegetable curry. Over rice. With yoghurt. And a green salad with some other vegetables in it. Munching on an apple now. Ms Grizzlym has a range of great curries in the shed.

Yum... Shouldn't be reading food threads at this time of night.

Like the sound of that potato/onion curry. Would Mrs Grizz be kind enough to share the recipe?

Fairly standard fare for me tonight.

Two butcher's snags, Kipfler potatoes boiled and smashed with a little butter with a side of snow peas, steamed for 90 seconds. Capped off with a Tamar Valley Yoghurt for dessert.

Just darted in the door to catch a particularly yummy dinner. Cheese and spinach filo pie (homemade), a side dish of green beans with spicy tomato and garlic, a kick-arse green salad with those weed things - artichokes, I believe - and homemade bread.

And some discount Safeway cake thing for desert.

Most nice.

Been getting into the morrocan curry as of late. Need to get hold of a spice mix called 'Ras et Hanout' or you can easily make it if you have a good selection of spices.

- Fry off some finely diced onion and garlic
- Brown meat of choice (Lamb shanks work well)
- Add Spice mix, and pinch saffron if you have it.
- Add a good amount of water or light stock (Chicken or vegetable)
- Add some chopped dried fruit such as dates, figs, apricots.
- Cook on low heat for about 3 hours
- Serve with Cous Cous.
- Eat without delay.
