Disappointing but the sky is still intact.

“It's a little ITB procedure. It will put him on the sidelines for a couple of weeks," football manager Geoff Walsh said. "It's a bit like Jordy [De Goey] the other day. We will see how he [Hoskin-Elliott] goes after surgery and keep him off his foot for seven to 10 days."

So lower leg injuries the theme were seeing here?
It’s not surprising, most players have legs and use them quite a lot.

Every injury seems to be blown out of proportion before season commences.

While u have the current Brownlow medalist with a broken leg and out for the season and the media coverage was relatively subdued.

Hopefully it doesn’t place him too far behind the pack.

If he can be in full training again in the month, he can be well placed.

Fingers crossed.

There was an article last week saying how Pies this year aren’t coping all the bad luck with injuries.

If I’m right it’s now

All in doubt for round 1. Still reckon that’s more than any other club !

Grundy isn't in doubt for Round 1 yet. Crisp appears to have risen like Lazarus too in this past week.

If the IT band needed to be surgically released then we're looking at 4-6 weeks before the guy can get back on the park. This gives the hyphen a wonderful opportunity to build some upper body strength after a couple of weeks resting.

It is also an operation that is unlikely to result in complications, unlike hammy procedures.

My Collingwood glass is 80% full and my lenses rose tinted.

Looks like the surgery is today. Probably this morning.

Orazia Fantasia had the same thing and was back playing 4 weeks later. Apparantely its common. He'll be alright. Better to get this sorted now, than a few games into the season.

Not ideal, however I like the proactive approach to have it done immediately.
Years gone by they would have waited to see how it responds after a month and then he’d be in for surgery.
He should be good to go without limitations by round 2-3 at the latest
