It's a shame really. Wool holds it's own against any of the current fabrics on the market. I'm not sure if it is still the case but Man U and the Aussie Cricket team are both very recent examples of high profile teams that have opted for wool over alternatives. Wool is up there with gold as the industries that established Victoria and it is dying a slow death. Get behind the western district wool farmers I say!!

We wore that in the '96 Lightning cup and just quietly I doubt that jumper was made in wool lol. So I'll go with 96.

I'm pretty sure Bucks was the last player to change. Always had the collar!
I hate this new shite. Want to find an old Collingwood woolley in an op shop. Till then, I'll just have to avoid fires in my co-polymer singlet.

I've got an old puma guernsey from 97 that wasn't made from wool.

Ahh I still fondly remember and miss my long sleeve woolen Collingwood jumper with big collar when I was kid with no. 42 ironed onto a big white square which was sewn onto the back... it was the warmest jumper I had and would be the first thing I would grab, whereas these days my Pies jumper that still fits me is short sleeve, little wind resistance and itchy as all hell to wear so I never wear it unless over the top of something when going to the footy. 
Never as warm as my woolen Pies jumper, duffel coat, beanie and scarf and I was all set no matter the conditions. They should make some retro throwbacks to that stuff. I'd be in!
