When or IF to Offload palmer?

Kornes should hold value or slightly increase while Bartel will decrease or hold. So no rush for either. Palmer meanwhile just scored 100 despite being tagged and looks like this year's Joel Selwood. Keep him in your midfield for a week or two longer to take advantage of the continued price rise and then re-assess.

I'm seeing him as a keeper - I mean Fremantle hardly have anyone to bother him for his position. Barring injury, he'll play all season. And given his reasonably consistent scoring, why would you trade him, considering as mentioned above he is already coping with being tagged in his first season? Kid is averaging +80 with one game of 46 as his hiccup......

He's staying in my team for now, can't see any reason to trade him. He was on 85 at 3/4 time yesterday and could have easily scored 115-120 if the dockers could run out a full game. If the Dockers can crack a win by playing 4 quarters, he's probably going to score big.

Definite keeper unless you need the money elsewhere.

I, like most, need to fix my backs before worrying about my midfield (which is perforning brilliantly anyway).

As someone else mentioned, Kornes, Bartel etc are likely to hold their value if anything, while Palmer will continue to go up. Hold on for at least a few more weeks when their prices will be closer, and then reassess.

Joel Selwood mark II. Only trade him if you dont have any problems anywhere else. So in other words, dont trade him.:p

Exactly.....there is no need to trade him at the moment....he is getting heaps of game time, looks fit, is being given every opportunity and is still sky-rocketing in value...KEEP HIM...the only time i would look to trade him out would be if he gets injured (no brainer) or if it comes finals time and I have a couple of trades up my sleave, otherwise he will be there all year....:thumbsu:

Next week I will be trading either Houli or Palmer (probably Houli) up to one of Swan/Corey/Bartel. Tough decision there.

I'm in the same boat. I may be a bit biased (as a Freo supporter), but having seen Palmer play week-in week-out, I don't have to think twice before offloading Houli.

i think i might downgrade him to cotchin (who would be a starting mid). it would free up about 140k which would be mighty handy in upgrading thompson to chapman. i dont think cotchin wil average the 80 ppg that palmer averages but i think he wil average around 65 to 70 which isnt much of a difference. and id rather have a cotchin - chapman combination then a palmer - thompson one.

Keeping him and Stevens in the midfield (why wouldn't you keep Nick? Scoring like a premium). Also intend to keep Ibbotson in defence if he can get over his love of palindromes, given the lack of quality down there. My other starting rookie in Rioli, I'll hopefully upgrade in the coming weeks.

And to the guy trading out Palmer for Cotchin - you'd be waiting till next week to trade, right?

yea of course palmer should go up a bit more this week. i realy wanted to keep him but theres some problems that need to be attended to in the forward line so i realy need the money

You know, i might consider this next week also. Cotchin seems like a must and i could start him for a few weeks until Browne goes up in price. Then i would have enough for a Browne to Bartel, leaving Cotchin as a back-up for the year. This would save one trade if i wanted to upgrade Palmer, it would take 3 trades if i don't do this but only 2 if i do.

Bit confusing but i might lean this way next week.

In Both DT and SC you would be stupid to trade out Palmer now. He is easily averaging 80 bar one quiet game early, and he is only getting better now that freo's form is improving. I'm keeping him unless i've got massive injuries and need cash from him... Surely to those of you looking to trade him out, you have other crapper cash cows lying around.

If you really have cash flow issues trade someone else out--Griffen, or someone like that--not Palmer. Palmer is almost guaranteed to increase in value. It could very well be that in three-four weeks he's at 320K and someone like Thompson or Mitchell happens to dive down to 370K due to poor form or return from injury. Then perfect swap. Or just leave him the whole time. You always want the hot rookie prospects but remember that a cash cow in hand is worth two in the bush! (Damn I wish Craig Bird had done as well as Palmer then there'd be the perfect saying...)

If I want the Chad, I have to say good bye to Palmer for Cotchin(starting on ground).
Although with 5 trades left after my 'finished' team Cotchin could well become Kornes/Cross depending on injuries.
