your kidding right?
After the stuff your players have been through the last decade, best to stay away from this current topic unless you live in a bubble.

If Essendon and Collingwood were not apart of the Anzac day clash, I doubt the mutual respect by all Australians would be as paramount as what it has become thanks to this fixture.
Yeah now you are kidding. 90% of NSW and Qld would never have watched Collingwood and Essendon play. Most of SA and WA could hardly care less about it either. Thank god this fixture came along and made Anzac Day what it is today for the millions who don't live in Melbourne

My club had a handfull of players who did the wrong thing and we got punished for it. Unlike the players at injunction, or those at Collingwood who admitted this pre-season to drug use - who did exactly the same as we did but nothing happened to. But thats besides the point - to compare some players off field exploits to a whole clubs systematic cheating is laughable.

Let them work their guts out getting to a top four position, then strip them of points a week before the finals start.

So when Richmond finish 9th again they can take their place and play finals!

AFL boss Andrew Demetriou says it could be two to three months before the Australian Sports Anti-doping Authority's investigation into Essendon is concluded, but has knocked on the head any suggestion the club could lose points this season.

Umm, the article was 3 weeks ago, and stated that Essendon is not indicating they took any of the alleged substances.

Fast forward 16 days, Essendon confirmed banned substances were taken, and invoices for Hexeralin have become public.

So VLAD can do his best to try to get the players off, it wont wash.

Only the most delusional Essendon supporter would not realise they are going to lose all points, Barrett said on TFS the club wants a club penalty rather than 2 year bans for players.

So the club knows whats coming, as they are now fessing up. The fact this whole operation was hidden from the board from Robson down means everyone will be sacked, only the board will remain intact.

And ASADA saying players face 12 months jail if they don't fess up with the truth indicates they are going to get super hard and destroy the club, and rightly so.

This is akin to the East Germany regime in the last 80s in the Olympics.

Vlad has said all along he knows more than what has been revealed to the public. He's been kept in the loop by ASADA and essendon. ASADA interviewed Reid over a month ago. He would have known for sure ;)

You're assuming Vlad will survive the fallout.

Jealous. Ha. Nobody wants to be in Essendons position regardless of onfield performance. It doesn't take a genius to work that out.

As for the article, a lot has happened in three weeks. The truth is nobody knows what will happen to the bombers. Would be embarrassing for the AFL if Essendon were to go deep into finals.

Why? They need to be found guilty first

The confessions have already started .are you too busy posting crap on here to notice? Damage control now.
Sounds like you're the one too busy posting crap. Haven't you heard the controversy over any action against the essendon players over the use of AOD?

Even today's article stated:
The use of this drug may yet lead to players or the club facing doping sanctions, although any such prosecution by doping authorities is likely to face legal challenges.

Sadly those legal challenges rest on the existance of a legit letter that says that athletes are allowed to take AOD. A letter saying that AOD is not a banned substance will not sufice.

The club has already admitted to 6 players taking a banned substance. I don't think I'm jumping the gun there at all...

The players may no longer be benefiting from PED's but its like Mr Amstrong saying "...don't worry guys I'm clean now..." The connection will be made between PED'S and any success EFC have in the near future whether you like it or not.

I doubt it will be the only cause for appeal.

With the ACC report claiming AOD wasn't banned, and the letter fairfax have showing wada weren't so sure even this year, there is evidence of doubt.

Add to that the loophole mentioned by the Age re compounding chemists etc

It ain't over, otherwise this would be over

Lawyers at 10 paces and all that

We've gone through this several times. The only relevant list is the list of authorised substances. Anything not on the list is illegal in WADA compliant competitions (like the AFL). There is no confusion over whether or not AOD was on the list of authorised substances.

We've also gone through this several times.

It isn't a loophole for WADA. It lets Joe Public take AOD legally. It does not let Joe Athlete take AOD whilst competing in a WADA compliant competition (like the AFL).

We've gone through it, us legal experts ;)

Lets see the big boys take it on.

Remember, the acclaimed Age investigators stated ASADA believe their case is weak.

The legal boys will only have something to play with if Essendon can provide a letter from WADA approving the use of AOD9604.
