Can anyone confirm whether these suspensions are for the 2007 premiership season?
Does it mean we won't see MJ till rd 5 and Wiz till Rd 7?

Can anyone confirm whether they can play in the NAB challenge games the next 2 weeks? I would have thought that as these are an AFL organised series that any player who has been suspended from playing in an AFL game should not be allowed to play in these games. If this is the case do we get MJ for rd 3 and Wiz for rd 5?

Any one out there know for sure??

You're correct at the start, NAB challenge games don't count so Johnno will be out till Rd 5 and the Wiz until Rd 7!

Yes, they are out for the first 4 rounds and 6 rounds of the 2007 season. :thumbsd:

If we were still in the NAB cup comp, then they could serve the first part of their suspensions during this comp. But because we have been knocked out, then the suspensions start round 1.

Yes they can play the remaining prac matches.

I wonder if CC and co knew what was about to unfold, if they would have had Pav sitting on the bench with 3 minutes to go, or if they would have sent him out to have a shot at a supergoal... thereby lessening the impact that the suspensions had in the proper season.

Aaahh the butterfly effect.

1. Keep Pav on - nail a super goal, win the game.

2. Wiz offered 4, MJ 3 weeks.

3. Accept the guilty pleas and the suspensions.

4. Play Carlton at home next week as part of the NAB cup. Likely win and it's already minus one week for both players for the H&A.

5. Play the next week as part of the NAB cup. Winning it is not the main aim, but knocking an extra week off of the H&A suspensions for Wiz and MJ.

6. The 3rd week of suspension is round 1 of the H&A.

7. MJ returns round 2.

8. Wiz returns round 3.

One super-goal and they were (almost) outta there.... :thumbsd:

Johnson most of all victimised in all of this and really if it weren't for Liam Pickering or whoever it was in the commentary box pleading for him to be charged there was nothing in it.

Farmer, well, he's an out and out idiot and now we won't be seeing him up here this year.

We could be off to a fairly slow start to the season that should be rested on Farmer's shoulders. MJ should feel annoyed there, he's been robbed a reputation and 4 weeks of good footy.

Ultimately this is what happens in a Melbourne-centric AFL when you go for the money in this stupid Pre-season competition.
