SYDNEY
SWANS
The Sydney Swans will play all 11
home games at the Sydney Cricket
Ground in ?, having established
fanatical home support at the SCG
since 1996.
Coach Rodney Eade continues at
the helm of a side which boasts
possibly the best crop of young talent in
the AFL, including the likes of Michael
O’Loughlin, Adam Goodes, Jason
Saddington, Jude Bolton, Ryan
Fitzgerald, Nic Fosdike and Stephen
Doyle, all under 25. Add to that the
vast skills and experience of Paul Kelly,
Wayne Schwass, Andrew Dunkley, Dale
Lewis, Daryn Cresswell and Jason Ball,
and it’s clear that the Swannies have the
talent to make a big impact in the
? season. If Paul Kelly remains fit
for the whole season, the Swans could
go all the way.
The most prominent recruit for ?
is former Collingwood star, Paul
Williams. Williams is a talented
midfielder who has consistently polled
well in Magpies Best & Fairest voting
over the past few seasons. His
leadership qualities, explosive pace and
skills will make him a key man in the
Swans line-up. Talented former Demons
wingman Stephen Tingay is also
Sydney-bound. He has had a wretched
run of injuries over the past couple of
years, but the Swans are hoping that if
his training is well-managed he may
provide the vital extra spark to the red &
whites in the big games.
The Swans are committed to
keeping their home base at the SCG
until at least 2009. The Trust is set to
commence work on a development that
will provide state-of-the-art players
facilities in a complex behind the
Churchill Stand. The new facilities are
scheduled to be completed in time for
the ? AFL season.?
So.... as our contract runs out soon, fancy watching all our games at the Western OK coral?
