It was great win by Freo and the pathetic attempts by Brad Hardie on 6PR to suggest it was more that Port were poor is typical 'hide behind the microphone' stuff from the bloke with chips on both shoulders.

However where do you reckon it ranks. I heard Gerard Healy suggest that it was one of our greatest wins but not too sure.

My current rankings ..

1) Beating WC at end of 2003 to secure home final and so condemn their season to another losing away final.

2) Beating Kangas away in 2003 coming back from 4 goals down to just about secure a finals spot against our main challengers at the time. Glad Headland kicked a behind and not a goal in hindsight

3) The win at Geelong last year when most teams were getting pumped there

4) Goal after siren to beat Saints last year in Round 21

5) The demolition derby, forget what year

6) A game at WACA against Geelong when the human golf ball kicked one from the proverbial to send a smile the size of jupiter onto Neesham's face around about 1997.

Could probably pick a few others. Modra kicking a heap against Melbourne at MCG a few years ago. Our beating of Carlton after they had won the 95 premiership and had not lost in lightyears.

I would rank the Port win maybe about 10th to 12th ..

The very best games leave you with an incredible sense of excitement, ecstacy and exhilaration. The game against Melbourne last year where they just tore them apart, or the Geelong game against the odds, or the Sainters game where we needed to win for a final.

This win was exciting but more a sense of relief in that maybe what I've been thinking could happen this season might not happen.

A win against Adelaide next week at home in front of 40,000 could be super-exciting.

Amen. It was a relieving win, not exciting. We could very easily disappoint again next week against another firey Adelaide side in which we'll be right back down to where we were after Round 1

Yeah that WACA game was something else. But just in case we start rewriting history it was on a Friday night against the Kangas who at the time were regarded as the night footy specialists.
Round 5 1998 at the WACA Fremantle 16.8 (104) Nth Melb 12.15 (87) Won 17
Otherwise your games are all my top rankings but i'd add the Wizz's after the siren goal against Melbourne in 2002.

Thanks for correction. Was so long ago, I just remember the buzz as Wills celebrated with the crowd.

Wasn't that the same game that Abraham kick a goal within the first 30 sec of the game. Straight from the opening bounce from memory. We don't see that very often!

Sorry cant help you there. My everlasting memory of that game was Andrew Will's soccer kick from the pocket getting the goal then running around the boundry palming the faithfull.

ah willsies goal i remember the bald head doing that.....etched in my memory forever....pitty WACA got canned for afl was not a bad ground and cheaper for FFC in terms of paying rent.....

geelong at cats park and demons game at subi just dying seconds goal by wiz when neitz pushed him in the back was 2 great games.

Unfortunately I have been in Adelaide for the past week. My assessment was that both teams were extremely poor. Port Adelaide was simply far worse than Fremantle.

Seeing the game develop live ranked next to burning your eyes out with hot pokers.

Surely by now you would know I don't sit in the stands undertaker. Corporate hospitality certainly has its privileges. :thumbsu:

You all should know that I am a diehard Souths supporter and would love to see him do well, but I could not resist the temptation to have a go at dasler.

Dasler I stand corrected I hope the Barossa Valley Chardonay was well chilled and to your liking, a bit different to the Chateu de Cardboard you normally drink at the Eagles games :)
