Oh so you are backtracking already. No star center actually means no star big man. Thats ludicrous, so basically in your first statement you said no team can succeed unless they have either a gun big man or a gun small man. Tell me if they dont have a gun big or a gun small, what the **** else can they have? a gun medium player?
Hamilton is the closest thing to a gun that the Pistons have, but he is no PG, which is what you said. Dont confuse gun with good.
Dwayne Wade was a #5 pick, not a #20 pick, you'd expect him to start and play well (which he does).
Nelson may very well step up and star but without Francis, if he failed,
the magic would be without a decent point guard, which is risky.
Don't be foolish to say that Billups and Wallace are not guns, they are awesome players, you made a
mistake with that call. I never mentioned anything about point guards here, i was simply replying to
your statement that the pistons have no guns.
Lets say if the Magic did do a trade for Marion and Johnson, and they rely on Nelson and Howard to be fantastic
players. If Nelson and Howard underperform, you're relying on Marion and Johnson to carry the team, which didn't
work at Phoenix this year.
In response to the player sizes, what i'm really trying to emphasize is that all good NBA teams this year had at
least a gun point guard, or a gun big man, and when I say big I mean the likes of KG, Duncan, J.Oneal, when I say
small men I mean Kidd, Cassell, Francis etc,
The Magic/Suns trade would leave the Magic with two small forwards in Joe Johnson and Marion, but no star
point guard/power forward or centre, you can't make a team with that.
