Maybe a silly question, but where is Brenton Sanderson? He is not on any injury list - what is his situation and when is he expected back?

He played in the VFL on sunday. He returned 3 weeks ago and played half a VFL game, then rolled his ankle the following week at training. He missed the next VFL game and last weekend was a bye for the VFL comp.

I'm sure the club will try and get him the two games he needs for his 200, but how far off is he from being an actual chance to be picked? Anybody know?

Give him 2-3 weeks in the ressies and hell be back, just needs to get some run in the old legs.

Pretty hard to fit a spot for him down back. Rooke has taken a step forward and grabbed the opportunity with both hands. I think only injuries could open the door for Sando's return.

He'll play his 200th. I don't think he's played since last year so he'll need a few weeks to get back into the swing of things.

Unfortunately for Sando 100% correct - there is no one playing on our backline who could be dropped ATM

That's the unforunate thing with injuries. Once you lose your spot someone could perform and take it from you. My estimate would be that Sanderson is a good 3 weeks away from being in contention. Seeing as he hasn't played alot in the last few months, you would expect a few tough games in the VFL will be needed.

I still maintain we're at least one small defender short, so there should be a spot for Sando.

Then again, there should be a spot for Tim Callan but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Imagine DJ will be the one that receives the 'chop' if Sando is returned.

You don't think we've got room for both?

I've long been of the opinion we're far too light on legitimate small defensive types. Sando, Fumbles and Fresh should all be in there when fit.
