Oh, I can here it now. A hundred comedians with their "JAIL" replies!!!

Seriously though, I think he will be testing the free agency market after this season, with both Atlanta and Phoenix to make big runs at him (Maybe Orlando too if Hill bites the bullet and retires, saving them a ****load).

Where do you reckon he'll end up when the dust settles?

I'm confident that Kobe will either be wearing a Lakers or Grizzlies uniform next season.

In Memphis, he'd get to team with Jerry, and also have a young team that he can lead, and that he knows will only get better in the future.

Having said that, if i were a betting man, i'd say he's a Laker for life.

Those who think that Kobe will remain with the Lakers, do you take into account that though it is a team sport, Kobe may desire to have a team that is "his" team?

I mean, this is Shaq's team, right? And it'll remain that way til Shaq sees fit to bugger off

That being said, I always saw the Grizzlies as bring Pau Gasol's team in the future.

If we had any other coach, Pau would be playing 40 minutes a night, and putting up 23 and 12, but with Hubieball, everyone gets a chance.

Unless your name is Dahntay.

Phoenix.

Im a huge fan of the suns and Kobe would fit in perfectly, our lineup would look something like this

C- Amare
PF- Zarko
SF- Marion
SG- Kobe
PG- Johnson or Barbosa

Bench- Vujanic (if we decide to take him out of Europe), lampe, barbosa or Johnson

There is no reason why we cant or wouldnt sign Kobe in FA, we've got the cap-room we would then have 2 all-stars (marion and Kobe) as well as one of the best young players in the league (stoudamire)

Amare at the 5?

Also wouldn't think it would be ideal to move Joe Johnson to PG, especially when he's had a breakout season in the 2 spot.

I can't see Kobe going to Phoenix. Nothing there for him. If he is going to change teams, he will sign with a team on the way up, a team that is winning.

Youth and wins would be Kobe's buzzwords, the Suns have youth, but very few wins. The Grizzlies on the other hand...............

good points. I think in this years draft we will end up drafting a big C (possibly Pavel-depending on the pick) sign a decent PG and we should be back in the play-off hunt, these reasons may or may not entice Kobe.

Phoenix have a string of failed "big C's", admittedly none were drafted as highly as your pick this year, but still, finding a quality centre isn't that simple.

Given the money involved, wouldn't signing a "decent PG" make it near on impossible to give Kobe a max deal?

With Marion already on a max deal, and Amare looking for the benjies next year, i can't see how Phoenix can have two max contracts, sign a good PG, and have enough to pay Amare next season.

Besides, i think Kobe will go with a sign-and-trade deal, should he leave. Not sure the Suns have enough cattle to get a deal done, especially when Memphis are willing to give up 3 quality NBA players (including a PF to replace Malone) to sign Kobe.

I'd say he'll stay a Laker, but if he was to go he'll probably end up at Memphis with the 76ers a darkhorse.

Do you know what Hubieball is?

Not speaking for Jod, but I'd say sharing the ball, sacrificing for the greater good, willingly taking a seat on the pine if someone else is playing better than you. Don't know how many of those traits Kobe would bring to Memphis, unless of course Hubieball is given away if they got Bryant.

Memphis....the place where all stars go to become role players. If Kobe can handle 25 minutes a night with stats like 15 5 and 5 then by all means he will fit in nicely at Memphis.

But if Kobe leaves LA we all know why. He wants to prove to himself and the public that he can lead a team where he is the star without Shaq. At Memphis that wouldnt happen.

Memphis are just about the only team in the league, the other so called teams are actually some stars with some role players helping out. Memphis are a TEAM.

Kobe's going nowhere.

With each passing day, the Lakers are becoming more and more his team.

His ascension is inevitable - shades of Magic and Kareem in the mid-eighties.
